yup, gotta tear down. I had a killer 9 piece acoustic drum kit & all the mics but now I have a 6 piece electric kit that i CAN RUN DIRECT usb OR midi & sound just as good @ 3 am then fold up & stash away & noone hears anything but tap-tap-not to mention my f-ups because I'm no drummer.
my room is nice, large, acoustically "sound" yet due to the layout I'm off to a side & corner (I can do pics).
in your opinion, can you overcome this w/ sheer monitor power & volume? I have 8's & 15's.....
kind of a dumb question I think but.......I am about 98% accurate on headphone mixes w/ a...
the SM-57 or an AKG D5 would be good. however, for drum mic'ing a single dynamic overhead just won't cut it. one can never have too many mics but a dynamic & a condenser is a good start. even the "budget" MXL 990/990s are good condensers when you get used to them & their eq curve.
after that,a...
in this business willing to do for free & putting out a free ad tells people you have zero experience.
IF you do get someone to bite then word gets around that you work free or very cheap.
that tends to bite you in the end.
I'm still stuck on the wunderkind, been "producing" since age 12,and "indy" label that can't afford to buy him some monitors.
but it is what it is so I'll go w/ the AKG K240's or on an even cheaper budget the K44's,but either way the mix will need to be referenced somewhere else like in a vehicle...
as a general reference,most electronics are rated & spec'd @ a standard operational range of -40c to 85c. that's -40f to 185f.

yeah, that's what I'm thinking so I'll just go for the 8's even though stands are totally not an option in the current room.
too much stuff moving around too often & little curious fingers on occassion.lol
I had to print out the manual for an old Alesis Quadraverb GT.
5 lbs,136 pages, & one $50 black ink cartridge later.....
but.... hard copy manuals do come in handy on location for those of us w/ older phones & bad eyes.lol
no worries. yu basically have 2 options-
a very expensive digital board w/ multiple outs or a board w/ aux outs per channel like this Mackir-
Mackie - 1604-VLZ3
how to do it-
Using a Mixer Insert Jack as a Direct Out
you will still need a multi input audio interface.
yeah,I got that same price elsewhere-
rp5-$99ea
rp6-$135ea
rp8-$150ea
I'm trying to save the $100 since I already have a sub but for the difference & the fact that I won't be upgrading anytime soon I may as well bite the bullet even though $300 isn't much of a budget for monitors.
the main...
no way to a/b them live. this is new old stock & noone has any left locally.
I hear ya on the 8's but they're just a bit out of my budget,I have a sub so I can adjust for the lows,& I really don't need the extra wattage as I don't mix that loud in the current home studio environment.
on the...

• Stream subgroups 1-2 or main L/R to your computer for recording
you only have 2 outs L & R. basically a stereo master mix.
you can arm L of track 1 & R of track 2 if you like.
yes,MF did that w/ something I ordered. they should be specific between a boxed version & a download.
that said,I only buy things w/ boxed versions since I seem to go through computers like potato chips the last 3 years.
it's between those 2 only.
I found a great deal on both sizes & that's what the budget allows so no other brand/size options need apply @ this time.
they're factory sealed NOS G2's w/ free shipping & warranty + extended warranty. I don't buy used gear.
the room is 12'x15' & stands are not an...
if you have noisy cheap preamps or a cheap condenser w/out db reduction or roll off switches you can get hiss w/ the gain up high. gain-not to be confused w/ input level.
no "universal" filters but the first thing to do for the background noise would be to get rid of any audio gaps or spaces such as between vocal lines, before & after guitar parts, cymbal crashes, etc.
as for the peaks-compressor,gates, & eq.
the best thing is to nip the background noise in the...
