These type of questions always bring out the age old debates. To answer your original question- yes a decent Mac will help with those issues.

That mixer seems to only have stereo outs so only 2 of the 1010 inputs can be used. Connecting would be easy just get 1/4" TS to RCA cables for those ins and outs and don't forget two of the ins would be TRS to XLR. This mixer would not be very good for recording as it lacks outputs and...
