You only have the one drive? Logic runs beautiful on my machine and its only a 1.8 G5. I do use a second hard drive for audio, however. Logic also runs very well on my MacBook Pro using only the one drive.

I have a 1010lt and as Kevin pointed out you can use all 10 in and out if you so choose. You can use more than one card for double the ins and outs.

My MacBook Pro runs my stuff just fine. Logic, Bias Peak, Antares plugs, etc. Blame DP if you need to, but the MacBook is a nice unit.

Get the mac mini and start recording. Treeline said it best.

Ram always helps. Upgrading it is less effective with programs that depend on shear cpu processing power such as convolution reverbs and such. speed.

Can't speak for ProTools, but I had no problems with Logic on a MacBook. I used one for a couple of months before switching to a MacBook Pro.

Sorry- I thought I read Logic instead of Pro Tools. My mistake! Go for something more powerful for Pro tools.

Logic will run fine if you bump the ram up to 2gb, but I have to agree with TragikRemix in that you should try to get something more powerful. Logic is a heavy duty program. I run it fine on my 1.8 G5 PPC with 4 gb ram, but will upgrade as soon as I can. If the mini is all you can afford thats...
