The DOD pedal is kinda weird, I have it and it really depends on the kind of amp. It sounds great on Peavey's cuz they have a dark clean tone, but on clean spanking sparkly Fenders it sounds like total junk. I would try the Metal Zone, I'm probably gonna be pickin one up soon as an alternative...

Pull back on the distortion, the heaviest stuff isn't all that distorted. Full saturation isn't always what ya want, try experimenting by turning the dist down to the lowest level and slowly turning it up until you get what sound like enough saturation and a full body. More players need to know...

Yeah, it sounds like it would be a really good alternative to soundcard recording. It is supposed to be able to record 4 channels at 24-bit, hopefully it will work well with cakewalk cuz thats what I use. Wes- That's great man, I would love to hear some feedback on the unit once you've got it...

What exactly is it you are doing for each song? Try listening to different styles of music like jazz or something and pull ideas from their rhythm section. You could also try playing a simple riff as a background.

Is anyone here using the US-428? It looks really decent for only $599 considering its 24bit and it comes with Cubasis VST. I don't have a good soundcard so I'm wondering if this would work good for me... thanks!
