Is there any way to impedance match 4ohm speakers with 6+ohm amplifier?

The 20/20's are 4 ohm? i've just never been a fan of low impedances simply because it's not the standard. (compatibility and what not) You'd need a big resistor to go with that, most resistors are rated at 2 watts max unless you buy a power resistor. Sony's may be cheap, but they are stable...

    Batteries versus power supplies

actually..... Actually, the voltage will be the same no matter how many pedals you have hooked up to it, AS LONG AS the sum of the current [usually in milliAmps (mA) ] drawn by the pedals does not exceed the rating of the power adapter. For example, if your adapter puts out 9 Volts DC at 800...

    Tube Preamps

Hey, I've been looking at tube preamps like the Hafler T3, Tube Works RT-922, and the ADA MP-1. These seem to be going for fairly cheap on E-bay.... My question is, does anybody have any recomendations/critiques of the models above or other models. I'm looking for a fairly heavy distortion...

How do you feel about your POD now ?

Sonixx, It sucks for putting in front of an amplifier. Its plenty versatile for recording but i just don't like the sounds. I'd rather have a tube amp... like the new Traynor. Mike

    Tascam 464

Hey! I've been looking into buying a 464 on e-bay recently. They seem to be a really good unit but not having much information on them I can't really tell. Are these good units? Is there something better for around the same price? I was looking at the 488 but won't squeezing 8 tracks on a tape...

Wouldn't POD need a mic emulator too?

You rich gear nazi's. POD's are for poor people. If it was as good as $4000 stacks it would cost $4000. The point is it sounds better and is more versatile than most mid-priced amps. And what I meant was to put the POD into of the power amp input of your guitar amp. That way you have control...

    coil tappin'

Not true Roel, ALL humbuckers have four wires... they need to, its just that they are wired like so: + ----[][][][][][]--| - -----[][][][][][]--| That is supposed to show the pos running into the pickup, than the neg from the other side connected to the pos of the other coil with the neg of...

    coil tapping(yet again), phasing, & series/parallel

Oh, I also have an on/momentary off switch right before the output so i can get that choppy 'switching between on and off pickups' sound without having to turn the volume on any pickups down.

    coil tapping(yet again), phasing, & series/parallel

This is easy.... Ok, all you need is a couple drill bits, some switches, and small wire. I have done these kind of mods to all my guitars. First, go find an electronics store that isn't radio shack, their switches suck and they cost like $5. I got all my switches for about $1 a piece. What you...

    EMG pickup question

Man, no matter what EMG you put in your guitar, if its a humbucker it should be splittable. I've got DiMarzio's in two of my guitars and I have 5 switches on one guitar and 3 on the other... its cool, tons of sounds.
