Personally I think online publicity combined with showing yourself to the persons and people in your scene, just be on others concert and they will go to yours. Play local and build yourself other. Norway is the devil when it comes to this. Our band has been playing for 5 years, only the last...
Nice setup. Personally I would made a custom made computer since it's very upgrade-friendly. And a nice pc it's importent for working with more tracks and plug-ins, as well as for the latency. But I really wouldn't spend the money on the Steinberg interface. For instance, you can buy Focusrite...
In Norway, the Gibson LP standard cost at least 3,500 dollars (calculated from norwegian kroner).
I haven't seen any PRS or Parker guitar in Norway, barely heard of PRS! But what I think is good with (at least) my Gibson Melody Maker JJ signature, it was controlled at every stop to Norway to...
Hello HR.
I may not be the newest member aboard, been using this as a resource for a couple of year. Mostly as a passive member. Hope that can change. I have a homerecording studio at my friends house, but since he is a bit strict of what I/we can do. I usually have the gear home (except for...
Hahahaha. I laughed. Epic!
This was a very interesting thread. For when I'm done with my education I really want to start a studio, hopefully combine it with electronic workshop and make some amps and effect-pedals (well, let's see how this works out..). So this thread really open my eyes;)...
For the Presonus and the Saffire Pro 40, I would go for the Focusrite (SP40). I have it, Focusrite can really make preamps. The Focusrite also looks more profesional. And not only do they have a smooth sound and a very nice DI option, they have digital inputs as well. So if youre expanding...
Audacity is almost childs play compared to Reaper. I had some problems with my old computer and Reaper. It wouldn't play or record.. And I tried so many different things, nothing worked. Audacity is free, but if you want a more advanced DAW and maybe later looking for expanding, Reaper is a...
If you invest some money in a real amp and a mic you would have more control (or at least what I feel) over the sound. You should test different amps and pedal. Maybe read what other bands are using?
I use it for faders, pot and transport. But I haven't noticed.. It might be noticeable when you write control the faders in a mix.
It responds nicely and I think it's a great option, since it's free. Might be a bit inaccurate on the values on faders and pots, so it isn't the best you can get;)
Hello.
Today I found out I could use my cellphone (smartphone) as a midi controller, since my wallet can't afford a real midi controller I would give this a shot. I think I spent around 7-8 hours (I'm not the fastest person) today just figuring how to do this. After several apps for my Android...
If you're really punk, you should go ahead and make youre own pedal. Spend hours of experimenting with combination of fuzz/drive and distortion circuits. Otherwise, Tubescreamer is a nice pedal. Boss have some, but you didn't like them. My advise, you should look for some pedals from brands that...
I'm not a pro on this, but you wont have any problems as long as you don't overload youre CPU. The only difference with a 64 bit version, is that in theory you can do 64 commands(bits) at the same time(paralel) and only 32 commands in the 32 bit. Youre system have the opportunity to use 64 bits...
Actually. I went from PT to Reaper. Though I've only been using PT for two and a half year and may not been the most pro in it. I can't afford Pro Tools anymore, so I went over to Reaper.
Reaper is optimalized for Windows, while PT for Mac.
Reaper uses several plug-ins formats, VST for...
I have a Soundtracs Topaz project 8, 32 channles mixer. I tried looking for a meterbridge, but I don't find anything useable. So I wonder if someone here have built their own meterbridge, or have some schematics. Any inputs would help as well.
PS. Materials and skills/tools are no problem.
Our band recorded a demo this weekend. And we want opinions for good and bad things. Along with some promotion, we would really appreciate some feedback. Good or bad doesn't matter.
It is the rock/punk genre. And it was recorded and mixed/mastered from friday 6-10 and saturday 12-7. So not...
Got the mixer! Very nice first-impression. A bit dirty and dusty, but will clean it tomorrow. It was bigger then I thought and alot heavier, but that doesn't hurt!;) Gonna build a stand/table for it. When I'm getting the drawings finished I could publish it and they who want, could follow the...
Hey. Read around the internet. Didn't find any concrete answer. So I post it here.
I must say after reading about it for several weeks, I really want one. 003Rack. There are 8 Analog inputs (4 XLR/DI and 4 LINE/DI(?)) haven't really gone into advanced digital recording, but I've read you can...
