Since Ive invested in some really nice amps and guitars I totally found that certain guitars sound 100% better through certain amps. A great expensive guitar can sound pretty "regular" through certain great expensive amps but in certain combinations you can have magic.

i own a few high end guitars including gretches and i find myself jamming on my ibanez artcore pretty often. its definitely a cool guitar for the cash. i get some beautiful musical feedbacking overtones with my blues jr and the artcore that i cant get with my other guitars...

Burstbuckers are a significant upgrade from the pickups in the LP classics IMO. My standard has Burstbuckers.

in defense of GC. they can be a very good resource for fine instruments if youre already an informed consumer. they usally have a nice selection that you can try out for yourself before you buy and they have a nice and easy return policy if youre not satisfied with your purchase. the salesman...

ahh, we cant let it end there! The Marshal 1974x sounds awesome. It does the "Marshall sound" great! We all know how important the Marshall sound is to Rock as we know it.

haha i have a 2004 american strat. i dont really like how it sounds through the marshall. maybe i think i need to replace the pups. it just sounds too weak.

Gibson GA-5 Les Paul Jr. Amp - 5 watts of pure tone. sounds just like my marshall handwired 1974x except much lower volume. The cheaper way to go is the new Epiphone Valve Jr. 5 Watt tube amp for $119. It sounds surprisingly good.

thanks for voting. i ended up buying a new heritage cherry sunburst gibson LP Standard. for hard/classic rock it really is a super sweet combo. i dont use any pedals either. just pure tone! now i need to make some money to pay off some credit cards lol i might post some pics later today.

A more simple suggestion would be maybe Fruityloops? for some reason i dont see DFH being right for your situation. its more of a rock drum sound in my experience and it needs a very powerful computer. Fruityloops is more of a techno program and ACID would also be helpful.

I was at GC a cople of weeks ago and i played the Valvetronix 2x12 amp (set on AC30 TB) right next to the AC30CC (through the top boost channel) and it sounded VERY different to me.
