care to elaborate? how do you go about doing this? it was either my crappy computer speakers or the song i put on had a ton of distortion on the snare, every hit.

well, that seemed easy enough :confused: . i mixed it down and fired up the Classic series free limiter, stuck on the first preset and the volume shot up :) . now its perfectly situated in the yellow :) . ill try and post the song on here today\tommorow and see how it goes. is that me done...

well i just did it. everything seems to be okay now. whats my next step. do i do a mix down, bring the stereo file back into cubase and have some fun with a limiter or something?

ok thanks, ill go and move each track sown a few db. by the way, im using Cubase SL3, i dont have any mastering software. i havent yet mixed down.

ive finished all my mixing and traking today but i am a little stuck. at various points during the song, the master output peaks occasionally, i cant hear any clipping but the meter still goes into the red momenterally. i am trying to get rid of this as i assume its bad news, is it problem? i...

i am already running all my drum tracks thorugh one reverb send. but the other two reverbs i am only using on one track for each. is there any point in setting a send up to only put one track through it, rather than using an insert?

wow, thanks for th help, i was getting worried a little there. i had a look at it again today and have sorted it out. basicly, it started clicking when i had all of the tracks going, not necciseraly playing but just not muted. when i muted for instance the drum tracks, everything would work...

i had another look at it. it onlt seems to be happening when i have all the parts playing. if i solo the bass and guitar together its fine, if i solo the strings and guitar its fine. but at the start of the song when its only the synth and strings playing, the popping is still there. ill defrag...

i fired up my computer today and started playback of my song. there is a ton of clicking\popping going on though and i cant work out why. the wierd thing is, it was fine yesterday and i havnt changed a thing between then and now. the output isnt clipping and the CPU performance in the VST...

yup, that sounds about right. i have chello,viola,violin,keys, guitar and bass. how do you suggest i sort this problem? just turning down everything a few db or is it more than just level problems? the synth patch that im using is actually pretty dynamic.

help. im using Spectrasonics Atmosphere and im having trouble. basicly, when i set the level of it so that it fits well in to the mix, certain bits of the keyboard part start clipping. the problem is, if i reduce the volume on it, it is far to quiet and pretty hard to hear over the other...

i think he is doing it all himself. apparently he said he was working on it 23 hours a day. maybe exagerating, but it is jordan rudess so maybe not :) im just looking for some good synth sounds, not dance sounds, not atmposphere sounds(ive already got spectrasonics atmosphere).

yup, he used to use a kurzweil as his main synth, but has changed to korg.

why dosnt everyone use cd-rw? then you can just use one disk over and over.
