    Ebaying guitars/paypal

I impulsively bid on a listing on ebay for a "gibson SG" color cherry, etc. I noticed it shortly before the auction ended and got it for a price you never expect to see a real SG go for. Sooooo, after the excitment, i take a look and it looks like the guy was selling a faded SG without...

    Group Buy Interest?

Chance, I know you are busy with all the shipping, but i was wondering if you would mind giving a quick update on progress so far, just to reassure those of us patiently waiting in the sidelines (drooling) for our mics. Thanks! Daav

    Tube amp Cable?

A side question on this, i use 18 gauge wire for my amp to speaker cables, and solder connectors on myself. The only 1/4 inch connectors (plugs and jacks) I have been able to find locally are the same that would be normally used for a guitar cable, is it necessary to get some heavy duty...

    Group Buy Interest?

Not that anyone is freaking out or anythign, but I just want to throw out there that things like the shockmount are definitely part of the expected troubles with something like this, and is more than offset by the deal we got. Chance is working to make it right in time, and I have grown to trust...

    wanted USB interface

Looking for a USB interface I can use with my laptop when traveling. Mainly to do some simple mixing, maybe record some idea tracks, and program drum parts. Needs to be 24bit/48000 at least. At least one preamp and MIDI in would be great. Small size is a plus, this is just an extra for me, so...

    Where to put the keyboard?

I have been thinking on a similiar situation, i want to build a desk that will hold up monitors out of the way, allow me to have the midi controller (88 keys) and the computer keyboard all together. Here is what i am working on: 1. Wireless keyboard and mouse- can;t say how nice this is...

Cubase LE Recording level- capabilty gone

On each track there should be a little speaker-ish icon near the recording arm button that turns on monitoring for any given track. You might need to stretch the track down to see all the buttons etc. Turning that one will let you monitor the input; turning it off, will let you hear what you...

    Guitar - Slight Buzz/Hum (Ground)?

I am not an expert, but that doesn't sound like a ground issue. Just standard hum, does it have single coils? Try shielding the body cavity and/or picking up some replacement pickups that are made to be quiet (I just replaced my strat pickups with bill lawrence's and they are great).

Properly grounding a vintage tube amp

I have an old lafayette tube amp that i love the sound of, put a celestian vintage 30 in it, some new tubes and it sounds amazing (to my ears). The trouble is that it is old, and has a simple two prong cord, and is not grounded in any significant way that i can see. It was made by univox, and...

    Portable vocal booth

Load it with treatment (the closet), and it will be dead. Clothes often do a good job of this, but if you can lone the walls with acoustic foam and get some bass absorbtion in there, you will get a very clean signal. Also, concentrate your absobtion on the back of the mic itself, if you can put...

    Question for the electronics guys....

bill lawrence replacements in my strat did a great job in killing the noise. Barely noticeable, and the pickups sound great. The body cavity is not shielded, but the 9official fender) replacement pickguard i added at the same time is (has foil all along the cavity area anyway. Best of all...

    The Death Of My "Ear-Muffs"

http://www.itrstudio.com/moreme.html Can't go wrong for the price, ad you will never, ever get a better warrentee or service. Save the extra money to buy monitors, mising with headphones is an excercise in frustration- headphone don't give an accurate rendition of the stere spread of a mix...
