My Axiom didn't come with a power adapter, so I have it plugged into the USB for power. Will this interfere with my software recognizing it through my Firebox? I try to record using Ableton Live Lite 6, but I press down on the keys and nothing happens.
I'm thinking of getting a Fostex MR8 HD, but don't know how I'll get drum tracks. Could I somehow do drum sampling with software like Ableton Live and my Axiom 61 and get the track onto the recorder, then record electric guitar over that? Or can I connect a drum machine like an Alexis SR into...
Thanks a lot for breaking that down for me.
I'm actually a pianist. I guess my main concern is for recording piano. I'm new to MIDI recording.
So do the sounds come from VSTi instruments on music software like Cubase? I have Cubase and the ProPak Recording Suite. Or do the sounds come from the...
I'm looking to use a keyboard for recording rather than performing, but am not sure whether I need hammer action for recording. I know that an axiom or m-audio keystation would be better for recording since it has all the knobs and faders, right? Would I really need hammer action if I'm not that...
What is the difference between the Fatar SL-990 and the normal SL-990? Or is there no difference?
I'm mostly just interested in hammer action and a keyboard to record drums and any virtual instruments I happen to find interest in.
Also, do I need to buy a MIDI cable separately to connect to...
I want to start recording using a firebox in cubase. Do I need to have both monitors and headphones plugged in to be able to record.
Another impatiently stupid question: How do I replay what I've recorded?
reason asking is that ProPak Recording Software won't read
Never mind. I read a thread by VeganZombie, another thread saying that the CD doesn't read.
I'll probably just get Fruity Loops. Does it cost $35? I look it up on FL's website, and it says the minimum edition is $100.
i'm new to recording software.
do you use propak software suite for your recordings (drum loops, effects, etc.?), or can you just do all of that using cubase only? is fruityloops better for creating drum tracks? thanks.
Am I stuck with only using two mics, or could I run it through a mixer? Man, I should've just gotten a Firestudio. Didn't think about whether I'd anticipate wanting to get a drumset. Could I possibly get away with two mics in an X/Y config?
Or are they matched up fine out of the box? I'm looking to order two from musiciansfriend but don't know if I should order directly from AT. Can I only order factory matched directly from them, and if so, does it cost more than buying two separately?
