When you are recording track 2, you can't monitor track 1 with the channel 1 (track 1) fader. You have to use the "Monitor" knob on channel one. Turn it to the right where it says "track 1", not the left where it says "input". Using the fader to monitor with causes track 1 to "bounce" to track...

Is your recorder digital or tape based? If it's tape based, that's one posible problem. Either way, make sure you have a good signal -with good levels- going "to tape." That's one place to start. Titan
