    Behringer UCA222 and latency

Haha, you don't realise how much you lose doing it that way. I've been through that and regret it. Maybe something like the TASCAM US-1641 would be fine (~$275).

    Behringer UCA222 and latency

If you don't notice the latency, it isn't a problem. The three main problems you could face with latency are that: the a recording is slightly out of sync with a previous recording, in which case you can simply move it to line up (some programs do this automatically) if you are monitoring the...

    Behringer UCA222 and latency

That's why i'm telling you to save for it. Use your sound card for now while you save for something like the FP10. The M-Audio 2496 will be fine, but you might as well save for something better 'cause it won't be a huge step up from the sound card. It will be better quality, but doesn't allow...

    Behringer UCA222 and latency

Yeah definitely. You might as well put that money towards a decent interface.

    Behringer UCA222 and latency

It is, but I'm talking about something like the Presonus FP10 (firepod). I wouldn't bother with the M-Audio 7.1. M-Audio are a decent company, but that's not one of their best products.

    Behringer UCA222 and latency

Well it will be an improvement, but maybe you should make do with what you've got just now and save for a dedicated interface.

need help with patchbay for my set up

Look into Reaper. A lot of people prefer it to ProTools, and it's only $60 for personal/small business license (earning less than $20k from the use of reaper).

    Quick question

Haha the second song was recorded really lofi. Guitar and Vocals with 1 Naiant X-Q and the violin with a pair of X-Qs. I like it though :) I released that as as single with my record label. The guy is now playing some really big gigs, infront of over 100,000 people on friday playing before...

    703 acoustical properties

You probably want RW60 or RW45... I think Knauf do Rocksilk (look at RS60 and RS45).

    Homemade bass trap for ~125Hz

Well fiberglass is just a type of insulation. You can get rigid fiberglass which is what we usually recommend due to its density and acoustical properties, but normal uncompressed insulation (think loft insulation) tightly rolled up will have similar properties. You can get rockwool in...

    Quick question

... one thing you might be noticing is the double-tracked bass guitar (only at the chorus). Just a little experiment :p

    Quick question

Cheers. I don't really want to send it to anyone else to master, just a few tips on what I might do.
