Do you sometimes jones to play your guitar?

Strings by Adam Marshall On steel I may glide, like a blade on ice. A welcome resistance on my fingertips accompanies all sounds imaginable. Wood vibrates mellow, humming with tone. Melodies dance as rhythm wavers to whatever pulse I desire. In years, I'll still be here, hunched having...

So who is really into Agile?

actually one of the few complaints i actually ever have heard about the LP copies are that they are heavier than gibsons. some of them are 11 or 12 pounds iirc. be sure to post a review if you get one. ill be in the market for either an agile or xaviere in the next month or so. Adam

    For people using modellers...

Do you ever set up your modelling chain through your monitors and use that to get feedback effects? Would you advise against this since i guess its bad for your monitors? or is it relatively common practice. because to me, a big advantage of using a real amp is just the fact that you can sit...

    First Rig Horror Stories

my first electric guitar was a black slammer strat knockoff plugged into a 10 watt practice amp. i then figured out a way to plug a cord into the head phone jack of that amp, and into the input of my 6 watt bass amp. this was my first full stack! i gotta say, between that and a microphone stand...

what do you guys do with old strings?

i learned a trick from cello_pudding on this board. its a little tricky explain though...youve probably heard of it already. you save as long a piece of string as you can with the ball end still on it. if you ever break a string behind the nut (close to the tuner) and dont want to replace it...

    I just ordered this thing...

i think what we all really want to see is a showdown of the big cheapie copy brands...rondo, eastwood, guitar fetish, etc. my next project is a Rivers Cuomo tribute guitar, and ill be on the hunt for a double fat strat copy. the blue/brown tortoise combo from rondo is pretty much perfect in...

    Zoom HD16/similar

the sound quality doesnt necessarily degrade when using a standalone recorder. the only thing thats usually not so hot are the preamps, which you can often bypass by using line ins. after that, unless youre an audiophile, for the most part, a digital recording is a digital recording. the...

Nice tube combo amps under $500?

i agree to a certain extent. its not really the genre that comes to mind when you think of a nice smooth tube sound. however, i could never suggest a SS amp over tube no matter what kind of genre we're talking about. i think the fenders are almost out of the question. in my experience, they...

Nice tube combo amps under $500?

Peavey Valveking I owned a valveking for a week or two. i had to return mine due to noise issues, but i loved the amp. it had a great clean and reverb, and i think it has the kind of sound you're looking for. i was going for a sound along the lines of rise against, the offspring, weezer, green...
