    CD Burner Problem

Does the burner show up in your device manager and is it 'named' correctly? If this is all ok, you may need to download and reinstall a patch from Roxio's web site that updates the list of supported drives in the Easy CD directory. If the drive was manufactured after the version 4 software was...

    Creating a boot disk

You should be able to go into bios and 'tell' the computer to boot from CD. The Win 98 CD should then boot and give you install options.

HELP! My computer needs a Doctor!

I'm not sure the problems are related, but here's a couple of links that might help. http://www.mc3computerclub.org/faqsVirus.htm#6 http://www.tides.com/1103.htm You either need to delete the reference to that .dll fill in winini if it is no longer needed. Or, you need to reinstall that file...

    Kick Question

It's very easy to use and it tracks amazingly (even does ghost notes). I'm not sure how it would do with a snare drum roll, but everything else I've used it on is incredible. I like to use it to mix a sample with the real kick in other words keep both tracks. What I do is this. If the original...

    Kick Question

Just tried it myself & looks like their site is shit right now. It's too big of a file or I would just email you the demo. You might have to wait till they get their feces consolidated.

    I love Event Electronics

I had 2 Layla 20's and sold them to buy a MOTU 24i and a 2408. The shit never did work right even tweekin' the hell out of my PC. So I just sold them and went back to a Layla 24 and a Layla EXP. I 'undid' all the tweeks and put my computer back to the way it was, put in the new PCI card...

    Crackly Moniters

What software are you using to play the CD's? If it's a newer Window's Media Player, it doesn't use the CD in on the sound card. Maybe you don't have DMA enabled for your CD rom? Just guessing without knowing what OS, what software to play CD's, etc. etc.

2 new songs, please listen and give mix advice!

Not much to say here. Great job! The only very tiny thing I might do is make the drums a little wetter. I think a bit more reverb might make them sit better in the mix. That's just my preference though. Maybe that's the sound you were after.

    help!

Not that familiar with the digi001. It might be a more expensive way to go though. I think you could get the Layla EXP pretty cheap if you can find one.

Waters is primarily a bass player, although he plays keys and probably other stuff also.

My first song up for review

Over all good mix. The only thing I could say is bring the snare up and more up front in the mix. It seems a bit lost. Maybe the other drums also (not sure about that part). The cymbals and hat sound ok...just the drums. Guitar sound is cool (very thick). Good work!

    Analog + Computer Recording...

It's been my experience that MOTU products do not work as well with PC's as Macs. Also, when you buy a PC you'll have a lot easier time if you get a mobo with an intel chipset. Lots of people have had a tough time getting the Via chipsets to work with pro sound cards. I'm not saying it can't be...

do not go beyond a 6db cut or boost with software eq's?

Piss on rules...does it sound OK? Trust your ears. I'm not saying the rule is untrue, but rules are broken all the time in the recording industry. If it gets you where you need to go, do it!
