    Pitch test

keeeriiiist you know how discouraging it is to hear someone like you think they need more work on their vocals? Seriously though, you have a very nice voice, something for me to aim for in the far.......off..... future. C.

rough mix of new metal song

sounded pretty good if that is the rough mix. nice to be able to almost make out the words in a metal song. id' like to hear it when it's done, but pretty good as it sits. C>

Camel Comm - I'm NOT Afraid of Distorted Guitars

ditto on ido1957 mixing remarks. pretty good tune, I'd also say a little less reverb on the vocal. nice. C>

new (old) board, new studio space, first shot - solo alt/country I finally wrapped up my new studio space, plugged in all the new-to-me gear, and got inspired for a few minutes. just let me know if it sounds like actual music, solo pop - country? thanks in advance. Everytime You

    acoustic foam placement.

i got some interesting magnet/mounts - used to attach ceramic tile when you might want to move it later. I think it would hold up a sheet of 703, but it would be toough to attach. I used it to attach a frame w/cloth to voer some 703 in a wall acvity. C<

    acoustic foam placement.

he means, make sure that any panels you put on the walls that are intended to trap the side reflections (sound reflected from walls that are perpendicular to the speakers) take into account that the speakers are not centered - the speakers that are further from the side wall will need their...

    Blueprint Help

imho, this space is too small to divide up. I'd try to keep a space this size open, it will help with the drum sounds and with the general comfort level of the space. By the time you add in acoustic treatments etc, it's going to be a trifle claustrophobic. If anything I would change the...

hey blaze, link is bad. but if it is rigid fiberglass I bet you can layer it until you get the thicknesss you need. I just layered some 3/4 thick glass until it was 4" thick, seems to be serving my purposes. cheers C.

    Improvised Acoustic Material??

bingo, imho this is more useful for working on the tracking aspect, although you will also notice the results also during tracking. Ruffling the surface will make no discernible difference. I have not read of anything like this being used in bass traps. best of luck. C>

    Improvised Acoustic Material??

I'd work on deadening the wall behind the mix desk, imho. build some proper bass traps with some other material, but if you have no treatment at all on the wall behind the mix position you will probably have a lot of trouble mixing. I'd hang it like a curtain, say take 2 2X2s' and screw them...

    Improvised Acoustic Material??

i'd build some membrane bass traps and use several layers of it inside each one. be my best shot. barring that maybe cover the entire rear wall of the room with a couple of layers of it, hanging from the ceiling - jsut to kill that end of the room. C.
