    Software?

You did good by upgrading computers. 64mbRAM just wouldn't cut it with any of the multi-tracking software. Most of us on here use n-track www.fasoft.com . It is cheap and easy to use.

    Software?

I can't answer the first part. About the "modern" pc, it's according to what you have? Tell us what you have. I have a refurb dell and love it. As for the crackling sound, does it sound like a connection sound caused by a bad hookup and/or is it showing up on the recording? Note: everything I...

    copying from pc to mr8

I'll take a shot at #1. I think you need wavmanager to do this more easily. If you have renamed the file I don't think it will go back on the MR-8 without renaming it again to tr01, tr02, etc.

    MR8 to CD Recorder

I don't know what other digital hookups look like (except I guess USB is digital), but this is what is known as a light pipe. I think you are probably going to have to look for a CD recorder that has digital hookups. I don't think they all have it. Mine doesn't. Have you thought about getting an...

I signed up but haven't had time to go back. This is a busy time of year for me. We have 6 bookings this month. I have to sing a duet on the 15th with a lady at church, a solo in a musical at my parent's church, and I don't even know either song yet.

    MR8 to CD Recorder

Welcome Big John. You do not have to mixdown to 7/8 before transferring to a CD recorder. You can either go with an analog mixdown using the stereo out jacks on the MR-8 or you can go digital with the digital out jack. Either way you mixdown to CDR. In other words you need to rehearse the...

Post songs recorded on your MR-8

I got an email the other day saying that there was an update to the anwida reverb light (free one), but I haven't got it yet. Also, digitalfishphones has some new free plugins that I heard good things about. I looked it up here's the link:www.digitalfishphones.com/main.php?item=2&subItem=5 It's...

    MR8 to CDR

Yes, you can even do it digitally with the digital jack on the MR-8. I guess you could use the stereo out jacks also, but it would be better to go with the light pipe.

    VF80 or MR8

Re: Whaddya know? I'll answer these the best I can. This is coming from the MR-8 point of view. The MR-8 does have memory limitations. You get approx. 24 track minutes on the card it comes with. This is 8 tracks of a 3 minute song. I think you can go up to a 256mb card for less than $100...

Transferring tracks from an MR-8 to mixing software

First of all you go to the Fostex site and download wavmanager (don't have the link but do a search on here and it will come up). The wavmanager will make it a lot easier to transfer tracks. Each track shows up separately because you can only transfer one at a time. Where ever you save them to...

    Question for n track users

In that case just keep what you need on the MR-8 and transfer everything else to the pc to be mixed in n-track. N-track is very easy to use also. The manual may be intimidating, but I've used n-track numerous times now and have never looked at the manual. Keep in mind also, if you didn't already...

    Question for n track users

When you transfer files from MR-8 to pc they are still on the MR-8. You could, after transferring, mix the tracks that are still on the MR- 8 to 7/8, delete tracks 1-6, do delete unused , then use the stereo wav on 7/8 to monitor while recording to 1-6. I have limited experience at recording...

    any church players here??

Good song Elvis. I'd say the key needs to come up some and maybe a little faster tempo might do the song some good. Just saying this since you said you don't like the arrangement.

Ain't it funny how God makes a way for His children to be able to get together. Oh, and buck, they didn't bash the mix too bad. They just didn't ever give me the advice I was looking for because they were too busy saying the the drum machine should go and there was too much treble, etc. What it...

    any church players here??

I'll give you a proposition. You guys play and I'll sing. It doesn't matter what, as long as it has a good message. This is the first time I've been on the guitar forum because I don't play anything. I just sing. I'll try to give my comments on some of the things you guys said. Church sound...
