    First look at N-TRACKS demo/help?

I use n-track. I really couldn't give you any input on any other multi-tracking software because N-track is the only one I've used. The others are out of my price range. Besides, from what I hear from other people, n-track is better than some software that costs $100s more.

    First look at N-TRACKS demo/help?

That's ok. We all have to start somewhere. Do a search on this forum for wavmanager. There have been several threads on it where someone posted the exact link. If not just look around in the "support" part of the fostex site. Doing a search for wavmanager in this forum will also bring up a lot...

Wait a minute. I just thought of something. You said you downloaded the N-track demo. If you only have the demo, it has limitations. This could be your problem.

Are you using wavmanager (available free on the fostex site) to transfer the tracks. I think there is definitely something wrong besides the amount of RAM. 256 should be enough. Do you mean that you don't know what tracks you want to keep? Or something else?

Track faders or trim knob at zero? Garry that's a nice tune. Girl has a good voice. I think the vocal sounded better at the part where it kinda slowed down and got quieter. They just seemed more clear at that point. What kind of mic are you using?

Garry you brought up something that I have been wondering about. For those that use a mixer or a preamp how do you set the trim on the MR-8?

Finally bought the MR-8...now a question or two

Mike you can move tracks just like turntablist said. However, bouncing is different.

Dave, I've used a SM58 and Beta 58a with my MR-8. So far I've been unable to use the SM58 (even though I like the warmer sound), but can't get the levels high enough without getting too close to the mic. And, of course, this causes you to have the proximity effect which is really prevalent with...

    copying from pc to mr8

Re: hm... That's what I did and it keeps saying do you want to overwrite this file (song file). If you say yes it will not transfer? If you say cancel it will not transfer? I have a feeling this is one of those things that when I figure it out I'm gonna be saying "oh yeah I forgot I had to do...

    Software?

cellar, Before 6 months ago I had never used any multi-track software. Pro Tools free will not work with XP so I've never tried it. N-track was very easy for me to learn to use. I never looked at the manual. When I would get to something I didn't understand there would be a help button close by...

    copying from pc to mr8

Well I sat here and told Joe about transferring from PC to MR-8 and now for some reason I can't do it? I did a search on this forum because I thought I had did this before (forgot how to transfer) and can't find anything. When I do find out the step by step instructions I'm going to write them down.

I believe it has two xlr jacks. There are some people that frequent the forum who use the VF-160. Hang loose and they will be on here soon.
