That would be a huge help!!
It seems like about a 6/45 or something - I couldn't find anything finer than a 32 the last places that I tried - I'll check out the depot next. Thanks!
Thanks guys - I tried the local hardware store route, but they didn't have anything with a fine enough thread....and I combed every little bin and package in the entire screw, bolt and fastener section....
....if I can get a moment during working hours, I'll give Mackie's support line a...
I've replaced my older Mackie 1402 VLZ Pro at work with the 1402 VLZ3, but when I try to mount the old rack ears onto the new mixer, the screws are way too short to clear the rack ears and screw into the body of the mixer.
I tried picking up some replacement screws, but am having trouble finding...
.... :o
It never occurred to me that I could....
....so...uhh.....thanks.....move along now....nothing to see here.....
....really....nothing at all.....:o
No photos...
I'll see if my ancient digicam can focus closely enough to show the detail...it's like a softly textured patina, with a hint of a greenish tinge, and it looks worst on the jacket of the connector cable between the PS and the mic - the mic end of the cable looks fine, and the faces...
My biggest concern is that the salt moisture that has caused the jackets to show signs of early external corrosion, is somehow eating away inside the power supply as well....
...I know that once corrosion gets a foothold, it's tough to stop....am I just being paranoid?
I recently came across a V77 at a price that I couldn't resist....
I've had the chance to test it out a bit, and I'm a very happy camper, but since I'd like to keep this one around for a long time, I'd like to care for it as well as possible.
I wonder if I should be concerned about how...
Thanks BK....winning is always a state of mind....
I do appreciate your contribution of experience and opinion...and those very qualities are part of why shotguns are so popular for VO, I suppose....it's true that they are not very musical....:D
Nobody?
Well.....how about this, then?
Is anyone working with any shotgun mics? Which ones? How ya liking 'em? Anybody using them for VO?
I work pretty regularly with the Sennheiser 416 on the job, but can't afford my own, and am hoping that this Beyer will closely enough approximate the...
...mic, that is!! :)
I won a BeyerDynamic 86N C S shotgun mic on the bay recently, and hope to use it for voiceover work, as an alternative to the Sennheiser 416 (which is beyond my budget).
Has anyone had any experience with this particular mic, especially in a VO application? I've seen...
Double check to see that you're recording in mono instead of stereo, and check all of your cables...hopefully, process of elimination will help you narrow down whether it's a hardware or software issue, and fix it....
Oh my God, man! It's beautiful! :D
.....brings a tear to my eye....
Looks like all that hard work, planning and investment paid off....thanks for being enough to share the process with all of us....
....can't wait to hear what starts coming out of it - congratulations!! :)
LOL - the one in the ad under the first post!
...currently a compact X-Y....might change when I refresh....
There's a CL ad up now for a sweet Sennheiser boom mic setup with all the goodies ...

BTW, I didn't mean to slight Cakewalk, n-track, Sonar, Cubase, ProTools, GarageBank, Logic, Audacity, or any other programs that folks are using - there's a lot of good stuff out there...
...many folks just use whatever software their recording interface came with....others have specific needs...
