It's not an RTZ function - its a return to the last edit insertion point. So, if that point is at zero, it returns to zero. If its at 1min23, that's where it'll return to.
Actually, LE is also tied to certain hardware, as is MP ;)
To the OP, I suggest you read the sticky, everything is explained there concerning hardware interfaces and the different version of PT :)
16bit/44.1kHz should be your destination file format - ie. that's what you bounce to.
Digi EQ 3 will do you for EQ work, and the Dynamics 3 Compressor will work as a limiter if you set the ratio high enough. The Massey limiter is also very good!
I work as a sound engineer - it's the one and only job that I do. Yes its hard, but if you put your head to it and are willing to put in the hours for your passion, then for maybe 60-70% of those who try its possible.
I started out working in a reputable studio as their house engineer. Then...
That's someting I forgot to mention. I assume that you're buying the new generation iMac that only has FW 800 ports? If you go on Digi's website, there's clear instructions as to how the external recording drive and any of their FW interfaces must be connected!
Yeh, i've actually been trying that this afternoon - the whole groove extraction thing, except not extracting the drum groove but extracting the keys groove from a few bars where he's playing well.
I then beat mapped the dreams, and applied the key's groove template to the keys across the whole...
That iMac will have plenty of grunt for you needs! I'm sure you'll find it a LOT more powerful that your Dell. I would recommend that as a system without much hesitation...
Beneath me???
Are you kidding me?!!!!
You're reading far too much into this Joe. Who are you to judge what I was thinking based on the fact that I admitted - quite simply - that I skipped a few posts? I never said anything untoward in my post concerning the contents of said posts. In fact...
wow you guys are quick to the trigger eh?! :D
Simply put, I skimmed them.
I have an (I believe) informed opinion on the matter, and admitting that I perhaps didn't give my full, undivided attention to about 10 posts which basically repeat the first 10 posts of the thread isn't a reason to...
You should really check the spec of your computer is up to Digi compatibility standards. The page with all this info is linked in the sticky at the top of this forum!
But otherwise, you should have no problem. *Officially*, you should use a powered external drive to record to, however it will...
At the time that Amek made the Galileo they were working quite closely with Rupert Neve. He had some hand in the designing of the Gal's pres & EQ circuitry. They are quite similar to the circuitry used the the System 9098's which RP designed for Amek.
The Galileo is a great desk, but the...
Ok so this is doing my head in.
I've got a track hat was recorded to a click track. The drummer is pretty good, has a decent amount of groove and feel to it, but every so often loses the click slightly. I've also got a keyboardist playing a rhythm that's very hard to BeatDetective properly...
I would seriously consider going the DIY route. For the most part, it's pretty easy to build stuff with similar acoustic properties for a fair bit less. Have a look around, there's some very interesting threads at the John L Sayers forum, including a cracking thread about home-made broadband...
