What do you do with your music?

You can "master for iTunes" but you don't have to. I mastered in Logic Pro X and bounced the tracks with the highest quality WAV format Logic could do. It's live on all streaming services now and sounds good: Clever Weapon on Spotify Distrokid says they do a bit and sampling check when you...

What do you do with your music?

Distrokid for 'official' band stuff and my personal stuff that I think is good enough, but mostly soundcloud and reverbnation for sure. It's a hobby, as in part-time, for me now but in a few years I hope to get into producing, mixing and mastering full time.

    let me see your studio!

Phase 1 done. 10x12-ish room in the basement, turned the closet into a vocal/acoustic booth which is good enough for me now. Both sides are on hinges so I can get to the shelves and cables hanging on the wall. Plus I can shut the curtains to isolate it more. Not a totally isolated booth, but...

    advice on studio re-jiggering

Now that I've finished our first EP, I am rewarding myself with re-jiggering my studio now that I have a good idea what my workflow is, previous irritations etc. Current setup: - 2017 MBP, Logic Pro X - Scarlet Focusrite 18i20, Rokit 6's - Alesis Strike Pro - various mics/guitars/bass blah...

    What DAW are you using?

Using Logic Pro X with a Focusrite 18i20. I grabbed Harrison Mixbus when it was on sale a few weeks ago but haven't tried it yet. I did use a demo version of Pro Tools and found Logic WAY easier to use, but it is a pig on resources.

    Help me with my mixes

I like the guitar tone, sounds very much like Glen Drover's tone on his early Eidolon stuff which I loved. The biggest weak spot for me is the drums, I'm assuming they're programmed or using a built-in drummer from whatever DAW you're using? The guitar lead/rythm mix sounds great, the bass and...

feedback on my first real produced/mixed/mastered song

I used the Slate Digital FG-X on the master bus when I exported it from Logic and used the 'medium' setting on eMastered to liven it up a bit. Listening back to back, the 'original' does sound less noisy. I just reduce 2db at 2700-ish for the guitars and reduced the high shelf on the cymbals and...

feedback on my first real produced/mixed/mastered song

awesome, thanks for all the feedback! I had done a wider sounding mix previously but it sounded hollow up the middle...that's just my in-experience so I'll try tweaking a few things based on these suggestions! I'm the type of person that would keep tweaking and never release because I know I...

feedback on my first real produced/mixed/mastered song

thanks, I think I can set 'mastering strength' to reduce that. I tried mastering it myself, but couldn't get the 'bigness and clarity' I could hear in my head!

feedback on my first real produced/mixed/mastered song

I'm looking for as much nitpicky feedback as possible on this one! Been doing recording for just over a year and I'm producing, and mixing our bands first EP. I don't want to embed with Soundcloud because we don't want it on our SC page yet so here's the link: CleverWeapon | eMastered Public...

    mixing - frequencies and separation

While sitting in a deep depression that everything I mix sounds like complete garbage, I discovered this guy on YouTube: YouTube Probably one of the best explanations of the 5 bands, getting separation...but not too much separation and more. Since I've only been doing this for just over a...

How's the mix on this Rock/Prog Rock tune?

I'd echo most of the comments...vocals production is FANTASTIC, but the drums sound like an after-thought. The song has a great feel to it.

    feedback on my recording

I'm using a single vocal track and this is the order of the plugins: logic channel EQ to clear out noise ('negative eq') Waves Q10 for EQ Vocal Rider Siblance de-esser Eiosis Air EQ for final touches Aux bus out to Verbsuite classics for reverb.

    feedback on my recording

I'm using Vocal Rider from Waves to try an even out the vocals, I am going to try to do this with automation instead since I can't seem to get it right with that plugin.

    Band Practice Recordings

I like the sound of it. Obviously without a bass it sounds hollow, but doing an overdub bass track would make it sound great. Song has a nice vibe too.

    feedback on my recording

here's a (hopefully) better version. I changed the piano patch to the Steinway 2 in Logic. Last time it was on the default 'classic piano' setting. Nothing Left to Lose (2019) by Socially Awkward | Free Listening on SoundCloud

    Seeking Feedback For Beginner Mix

(listening on ear buds) Good consistency overall, sounds tight. The midi instruments are obvious and a little 'thin' sounding. The lead tone is nice, did you mic your amp, or record it dry? I like recording dry and re-amping, gives more freedom for tweaking sounds.
