Luckily, I can't afford that crutch anyway. I'll have to learn to walk on my own. And I have a lot of takes that end abruptly with lots of expletives and screaming. I think one day, I'll use them in a song or something. :D
That's pretty cool. It's nice to do what you enjoy for a living.
Not that I complain that much, I work with disabled people so I at least get some satisfaction and a feeling that I'm not wasting my life away at a dead end job. (This may be a dead end, but its nice and quiet and there's plenty...
Hell, I don't have autotune. I guess $400 wouldn't make it the most expensive part of my studio, but it will be a while before I will be able to purchase it, if I ever do. It's cheaper to just accept that I suck at singing. :D
I would imagine that P.M. had spent enough time with great...
In the context of this forum, I consider "home recording" to mean "hobbyist." I didn't sign up to find out which $3000 microphone was the best, I signed up to learn how I can make the best out of my modest equipment, and to learn about what other modestly priced equipment was out there to play...
I also read a good reply the other day about "being better than your current equipment" (to paraphrase).
Basically, the poster saw no need to upgrade until his skill level exceeded the capabilities of his hardware. This is something I haven't been thinking about and it made me pause for a...
Very interesting read on the Presonus Inspire. I've had mine for over two years now and have never run into issues, but now I think I'll be digging that power supply out of the bin just in case...
By the way, is this eBay deal too good to be true: ??

I see that...
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think because generally vocals are centered so it's easier to single them out by inverting the phase of one channel?
It won't work if the vocals are double tracked and panned hard left/right, and you'll still hear any stereo effects like reverb or chorus...
I really like the idea posted earlier about replacing the "stiff" backing track with some raunchy acoustic guitar.
I enjoy the blues too, but it's not like Ido drew a comic of Robert Johnson with a bomb turban or anything.
Page and Hendrix were good, but Mick is a virtuoso, a musical genius, and the best guitarist... no, musician, to walk the face of this or any other planet in the solar system... in high heel boots.
:D
*sigh*
I guess I knew that all along. :o
Are you sure there isn't a pill or something I can take?!? ;)
I did find an "ear training" program online, but I think it's probably $50 worth of snake oil. Got the demo and it's basically lots of sound samples (starting with pink noise)...
CRAP!
Is that why I can't find the "suck reducer" VST mastering plugin? I've searched high and low and cannot seem to find it. ;) :p
Does anyone know of some kind of "ear training" software that might be helpful for noobs like me who aren't exactly sure of what to listen for?
I find that...
