How did you get your 1st keyboard?

This was the first keyboard I ever had, my parents bought it for me for Christmas many many many many many many years ago... I don't remember what happened to it, but I have a feeling it disappeared because I played "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" on it continuously. That was the only piece of...

    PC or Mac for recording?

Just a dash?!? I still have the right to be arrogant just because I used to own a PowerBook. It's a Mac user entitlement to be arrogant. Not just a dash, but VERY arrogant, darnit! :p I switched  back to PC because owning and using a Mac made me realize that Mac OS has as many...

    Using Audacity to Mix

I'll throw a +1 for REAPER. Audacity is great for a lot of things but, in my opinion, is not anywhere near as good for multitrack stuff as REAPER is. Technically, REAPER isn't "free" but it's completely functional and non-expiring shareware. It can be free if you want it to be. Not that you...

The drum recording you hate the most

In some areas here in the South, sometimes that is the same person. --- I hate Lar's sound ever since "And Justice For All" but I really dislike the "clicky" bass drum sound so... (Plus, I have had a personal Metallica ban ever since seeing them SUCK live for the AJFA tour.)

    Neil Peart

As long as you are complacent in your vast knowledge, then it's ok. :D

    Neil Peart

All of us? Crap. :( ...and I thought I was really rockin' having an entire CD with nothing but a 70 minute version of "Rock You Like a Hurricane." This sucks. I guess I should I just give up my plan of making a DVD video of my two hour rendition of "Smoke on the Water?" :p

    Neil Peart

My gawd. How musically complacent can you get?!? Sheesh, you Rush fans are all alike... ;) :D

I look forward to hearing what you come up with. :)

    Save Me Now!!!

Another great tune, I like this. I really like the abrupt ending, it's unexpected but seems to fit (for me). It's kinda like: "Who's gonna save you? NOBODY. Bye. ;):p"

    Another first in the clinic

That. Was. Excellent. Great work. I can't comment on mixes because I'm listening on a speakers built into my monitor and I also know squat about mixing/etc. But the playing is really nice, great guitar work! :D

    Safety Dance

Haha!!! That's exactly what I was thinking. :D DavidK: Very nice! If you're going to do it again, maybe you could incorporate parts from the Safety Dance into your arrangement? :p Definitely hire a midget for the video, too. ;)

    Neil Peart

Jimi and Jimmy would kick his ass on a guitar. :p

Original tune "Far Side of the Doom" Pink Floydish

Nice! It does have that classic Floyd feel. The only thing missing is the ten minute "synth/blues guitar licks/ambient noise" intro and lyrics!!! :D Nice work. Is this the finished product, or do you have other plans for this?

    I Wonder Why

That's the sweetest complimensult I've ever heard. :p ---- 60's Guy: This isn't my usual cup of tea, but it's not bad. I agree with what's been said about the vocals, a bit lo-fi. It contrasts a bit with the clear lead guitar line though, so I'd either clean up the vocal or lo-fi the...

best way to pack guitar for shipping

That's how Fender ships them. My custom shop Strat came in it's hard shell case packed in a cardboard box with a little bit of folded cardboard at each end of the case.

Myspace is dead, long live ????

All these sites suck, but exposure is exposure! Register your own domain, have someone make you a kick ass site to host on it, and use all the other skanky services as portals to link to your own site. :)

From a guitar player to all drummers

How many drummers does it take to change a light bulb? None, they have a machine to do that now. What's the last thing a drummer says in a band? "Hey guys, let's try one of my songs?" (I read that in a Dave Grohl interview just this morning!) :)

Has anyone tried out the Godin Triumph before?

    +1 for Godin. Nice guitars.

    Spillstick

Nice tune. It doesn't seem eerie to me though; this sounds like something that would go behind a comical claymation piece with no dialog... just a character moving through some sort of scenario with a humorous punch line at the end. :)
