I agree that a faithful rendition would be much harder than a half-assed cover but I didn't expect that any of you would do it half-assed. I disagree that anything short of a replica is half-assed though.

Then why bother? Is this a group of counterfeiters, or artists? I'll guess artists. A bad rendition would ruin it. Different doesn't automatically mean bad.

Don't let it scare you, but I agree, totally. :D ;) I'll also add that the recording itself sounds very "classic rock" to me. No, I have no idea what that means, but that's what I think. :o I have very untrained ears, so I can't point out why I think your mix matches the genre and time...

Now THAT sounds challenging... that album sounds kinda decent. ;) Actually, any of those songs individually sound like an insane challenge if you're going for a cover that sounds like the original. :)
