    breathing

Anyone ever notice how all of our lives we're distracted from educating ourselves and investigating what we've been spoonfed all our lives? I'm a virgo and I enjoy smoked ribs and sex on the coffee table.

    breathing

I tried recording myself breathing, I was gonna layer it on top of yours. But my chainsmoking causes some wheezing so the two tracks were having this weird phase effect. I think I'll try to digitally edit some simulated wheezing into your track and I'll call it "Emphysema in Stereo".

    breathing

This has inspired me to mic up my toilet and record myself pissing. And then write some insane explanation of the amazing biological complexities of pissing. And I'll even add some confusion to my post by trying to write it in html instead of bbcode. Oh and I'll spam the same thread everywhere...

    More "breathing" threads, please...

LOL what an asshat. :D He comes here and spams 3 dupe threads and wonders why he can't include html in them. BWAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA Oh and he signs his name on every post. Rofflecopter Lollerskates!!!11!!11ELEVENONE111ONE

Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata - second attempt

Great advice, that will give me something to work on. :) When I just play it, not worry about recording it, I usually have a little more dynamics. But when recording, the micing takes away from that a bit. And I'm more focused on getting the notes right rather than just relaxing and really...

Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata - second attempt

Thanks for the input. The piano is a 1913 grand piano. It does need tuning but someone said that the soundboard is too fragile and may crack if tuned, however I tried to tune a couple of strings with some crude tools and no training and was able to tune it without breaking anything...so I...

Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata - second attempt

Thanks! but I haven't had any lessons at all. I just self-taught myself, spending around 5-10 minutes a day a few days a week for the last 3 months. I HAD to learn this song. :)

Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata - second attempt

I'm not hearing any phase. I'm using a bit of stereo hall reverb, but mainly only on one low-volume mix track. Do you have a time mark (M:SS) where the phasing is obvious? The mics were about 3 ft apart, both about 10" above the hammers around G2 and G5

Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata - second attempt

This is my secondattempt at Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata", solo piano. I just started learning piano 3 months ago, and basically started learning just to learn this piece. I do welcome any advice to improve it. This is my second attempt at it and I recorded it with two mics and did the best...

    Pickups 101

Personally I tend to get input from people who have tried multiple pickups in the same setup. A lot of people have experimented with them, only changing pickups and leaving everything else the same variable. www.keepmusicalive.com has quite a few pickup experts that have done just that and then...

    Pickups 101

Keep that guitar like it is and if you want to mess with aftermarket pickups, get a different guitar and go with some Dimarzios. You seriously should look into getting some Dimarzio pickups, they are sweet. Here's some good info on them... Dimarzio pickups I like the super distortions myself.

    Extreme Black/death Metal

LOL this is absolutely brilliant! I've often wanted to to do a deathmetal song about something silly like some dude that wants some Cheetos and is sick and tired of the cheap Cheetos knock-offs. Or something insane like that. Would you mind if I host your song on my website as an example? I'd...

Moonlight Sonata, need some feedback on first recording of it.

LOL I just realized where the phase was coming from. It's because the mix I posted is one that I altered in goldwave. I took the original and slowed it down a little so the phase effect is because of the time-warp. So I'll post the original now, it is a little faster (50bpm instead of 40). But...

Moonlight Sonata, need some feedback on first recording of it.

It might be the way I mixed it. I only had one mic on the piano so what I did was copy/paste the track so that there were 4 identical tracks. I had the tracks mixed like this... Track 1 - 100% left - very subtle hall delay Track 2 - 65%left 35%right - slightly stronger and wider hall delay...

Moonlight Sonata, need some feedback on first recording of it.

Thanks for the comments! The piano is a 1913 Harwood regular grand that hasn't been tuned in a long time. Some of the very low bass octaves are off by a quarter tone or so. I'm afraid to tune it because the soundboard is pretty fragile. I'm hoping to get a Korg Triton Studio or something...

Moonlight Sonata, need some feedback on first recording of it.

Hey guys. I basically started teaching myself to play piano over the last 3 months just so that I could play one song...Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. For years I knew a little on piano such as how to play a few chords, but that's basically it. I couldn't play anything, just used it to...

    Transferring MR8 Tracks.

No problem :) If he still has problems, direct him to these links (from Fostex.com). Warning: These are direct links so if you don't want to download it yourself, just copy/paste it for him to use. Wave Manager for PC allows USB transfers...

    Transferring MR8 Tracks.

Direct Connection using USB or the digital optical thing. I always use USB though. Just open up the F: drive (or whatever drive the MR-8 is assigned to), copy/paste all the tracks, and then paste them into your harddrive.

I had the same problem on my Viking 512 MB card, but then I downloaded the newest update from Fostex.com, and it works fine now.
