    Cubase Controller

That FaderPort one does everything I ever actually use my surface for and looks like it wouldn't be very tedious to use at all. I think I might just grab one of those... Cool, thanks for the link stratmaster :) Wait.. no jog wheel, but the pan knob could probably be overridden, which would be...

    Cubase Controller

You'll probably have best results making a new thread for that question and listing your budget and I/O channel count needs in the title.

    Drums need to sound real.

This+1. Easiest and fastest drum editor I've ever used.

    Cubase Controller

I think I should have written "It's really just retarded for mixing, and I couldn't, with any clear conscience at all, recommend anybody waste any more money on these stupid things, again, for mixing." I could recommend getting a simple transport controller with some kind of mute control for...

    Cubase Controller

I have a projectmix, and I use the transport, jog wheel, locate sections, and mute button on a talkback track *only*. And even for those parts - I only use them when tracking and talking back to whoever's recording. It actually is faster for me for that if we're doing a lot of punching in. I...

    Green dots under your name

I think the idea is for your "rep power" to be indicative of how useful or helpful your posts have been to other users. In reality - it doesn't really mean anything. I can only see the last 5 times somebody has given me rep for a post, so I can't give solid numbers, but assuming I've been...

    har-bal any good?

I don't know what har-bal is, but this: is just plain retarded, regardless.

Holy hell, dude - that thread is AWESOME!! Bookmarked, and thanks for doing that! :D

    $20 for a verse

The way crowsoffritz explained how he was using it made sense to me. Troll literally means to drag a baited hook hoping for a fish to bite, so I can see it being used if somebody's figuratively doing that, whether they intend to or not. lol @ this discussion

    Print or Export?

I'd also bet that's true 99% of the time, but it's not necessarily always going to be the case. If a plugin developer calls native timing functions instead of using something like the samplerate and count (which would produce the same results regardless of actual elapsed time) for determining...

whats a good *budget* mic to use on a bass guitar rig?

The best budget way to record bass is DI. It's also usually the best sounding way. 40 hz and below is pretty much useless "freight-train-in-the-distance" sounding noise anyway, but if there is sound that low in the bass, you'll get it with a DI. Hopefully you HPF it out, though.

    Why doesnt my mic work?

Oh, I had that problem once, but then I fixed it.

Synth and soundcard/interface don't like each other.

omg, no - it's a really simple thing that just basically pulls the ground out of the connection to the wall, without requiring you to rip it out with plyers. You can get them at lowes for like $1. I'm looking for a picture of one, but also cooking chicken. brb

new Boss GT-100... the newest fake amp modeler

It's definitely not my monitoring chain, bro, lol. There's some some clipping happening in the right channel of that soundclick thing after the distorted guitar comes in. I just listened again - and just to be sure, I also listened to some other soundclick samples (1 rap and 1 death metal -...

Synth and soundcard/interface don't like each other.

Ok, yea, that constant hum is 60hz hum. It's almost always caused by a groundloop, and can cause odd distortion sounds when the signal interacts with the harmonics in the noise. That's what's going on here, I'd almost bet on it. There's a few ways to try to get rid of it. First - plug all...

Synth and soundcard/interface don't like each other.

I dont see how that could be possible. Analog signals are analog signals. As long as you're not overdriving the emu's input, you shouldn't have this happening. The only thing I can think of is some kind of groundloop might be happening between the two devices. I'd expect 60hz hum for that...

Synth and soundcard/interface don't like each other.

I assume you mean you've tried the outputs of the Korg with headphones and speakers, right? The only thing I can think of, is that the output of the Korg is going to be line-level, which is a lot hotter than the signal from (most, but not all) guitars, so maybe it's just clipping the Emu. It...

Preap with ADAT out into Projectmix I/O ADAT Lightpipe?

I got mine new for 1000 or so - msrp is what, like 1600? And musiciansfriend and sweetwater and other big stores usually sell them new for like 1200 - 1300, right? I don't really know why the new prices are all over the place, dude, much less the used ones. That is an interesting observation...
