The envelope of a sound is made up of four parts: Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release (ADSR).
Attack: The time taken for the sound to go from starting point to the loudest. On a snare (for example), this would be milliseconds. On a synth or something more "fadey in", it could be seconds. Think...
Why flip the phase? Surely that's situation-dependent. If the two mics are already in phase, then flipping one out of phase isn't going to do it many favours.
Thanks for all the comments lads.
Here's how I got on in the end:

Probably gonna do a full cover of it. Stay tuned :D
I forgot to mention that it was Eb to him. But given the situation, it'd be a handy time to learn. I don't want to have to pay some guy to set my guitar up if I want to change tunings.
And I want it in Eb because I write most of my music in Eb, most of the songs I like to jam along with are in...
...the one talked about in this thread.
Sounds great. Intonation's done, no more fret buzz, even got a whammy bar fitted on (last one broke off :o)
One problem though. He put the guitar back into standard tuning, I had it in Eb. I'm gettin alot more picky (if that's the word) with keeping this...
You could also make each track the entire length of the song (inserting silence where there is no audio), so that every clip starts at 0:00 and will line up the same way in another DAW.
...and why? Electric and/or acoustic.
I find lower gauge can sound out of tune if fretted/strummed to hard, but they're easier to play.
Just curious as to what gauge strings you guys use.
Hey guys. I just ended up formatting the drive and reinstalling XP. I'm using Norton Ghost to create a backup image of the C drive once I've installed all my updates, drivers, and basic software, so if anything like this ever happens again all I have to do is revert to the backup.
Cheers for...
I've been through that article a few times.
Quick question. I'm after finding a file called "aermwxnosc" in my startup items.
Type it into Google... NOTHING. It's running from "C:\DOCUME-1\USER\LOCALS-1\TEMP\AERMWXNOSC.TMP"
should i get rid of it?
I have McAffee and Microsoft Security Essentials installed on the PC. I'm using Spyware Doctor to scan the drive from the laptop now, because the virus keeps re-activating during scans when it's done natively. Once the scans are done, it tells me to reboot, and then it pops up all over again.
This is the THIRD time I've come across this f**king thing. Anybody here had to deal with it before?
It's stronger this time. It won't let me go online to download the files I need to get rid of it. Then it prevented me from viewing "My Computer", so I had to put download the files from the...
:laughings::laughings::laughings::laughings::laughings::laughings:
I didn't even f**king notice that :laughings:
:D
Well I could use Pro Tools or Guitar Rig, but I trust the tabs. Besides, I figure it's the kind of solo that you don't learn note-for-note. It's just impossible. Ya get the...
