How many bad songs do you have to write before you write a good one?

Hmmm I never really flesh out "bad" songs, but I do toss around a lot of ideas in my head. Probably only a third of those get written down. And probably out of those written down, maybe 20% are "good" to my tastes. I'm sure some are actually lame and I'm sure some I think are lame other...

Survey question: How many of you read and write music?

Yeah it's built around playing positions and not open open strings/chords. It lets the musicians quickly transpose if they need to. Here's a good wiki article about it: Nashville number system - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anybody know how to get You Tube videos to play through the AI?

Is it on? The option won't appear unless it's on. Sometimes the pc doesn't detect it even if it's on and connected so you might need to power up the AI a few times. Dumb question I know but sometimes it's the small things :)

    My new microphone lust.

Hmmm I like the old-school vibe about it, but I'm still not a huge fan. Looks like a bubble blower :D

    Playing live or recording ?

I love recording and kinda have a distaste for playing live. Haven't done it in 2 years because it's just a struggle finding people my age who are good musicians AND are reliable AND like the same style of music as me. Actually it's kinda impossible. And playing live solo is no fun for me.

Survey question: How many of you read and write music?

The Nashville number system was used mainly to help the instrumentalists adapt easily if the key needed to be raised or lowered.

    Mic setup help/suggestions?

Well then get a boom stand. Lol honestly this isn't hard. You are getting plenty of great suggestions in this thread.

    Mic setup help/suggestions?

Did you miss the stand I recommended in post #3? It's adjustable from 4"-6" tall so I think that it'd be a good fit for you.

    Mic setup help/suggestions?

Something like this: stand link And this: shockmount link Musicians Gear brand isn't the best, but it's affordable and plus you could always just upgrade later. That's actually the same shockmount I was talking about earlier.

    Mic setup help/suggestions?

A nice desktop mic stand and a shockmount will eliminate the typing noises and other vibrations. As for the other stuff like chair noise and such, you are somewhat stuck with it. If the noise is something besides the chair, you could possibly reduce it by hanging a thick blanket behind you but...

    Critique my MacBeth!

Cool dude I like it! I think you did a good job of capturing the emotion of the piece.

    Critique my MacBeth!

Yeah dude I'd like to hear it! idk if I'd be any help with critiques and what not since I don't really do much spoken stuff though. Here's all the voice work I've ever done :D lol https://homerecording.com/bbs/general-discussions/newbies/vocal-record-request-340617/

    "Sound City"....the movie.

Calling Fleetwood Mac (version 2.0) rock is unfair to rock. :thumbs up: That being said I still have their white album

    Recording with a TV present...

Haha horror of horrors :D Yeah I was thinking it'd be nice with multiple mics but I forgot it was going to be a live thing. I vote for that plan now! ^^^

    Recording with a TV present...

Hmmm yeah that's not a bad option. Good idea...just route everything into a mixer and send it out to headphones. Don't most low-price mixers only put out like 2 stereo tracks to a computer though?

    Recording with a TV present...

I can't help you with the earset mics, but I can tell you you don't need a mixer. You're going to want to buy an audio interface instead, which will let you record the mics and tv all as separate tracks and balance them later. Most likely the mics you'll end up getting will have XLR, so look...

    Recording with a TV present...

There's like a billion different sets of earbuds, so I'm sure you would find at least one pair comfortable. But it seems to me like you are quite set on the box, so do the box. Personal mics would be better but I took it that you didn't want to spend a whole lot. As for "buying an amp,"...
