    Bizarre

Recently been trying to set up my PC to record music again. Got a cheap dynamic mic going through an equally cheap Behringer xenyx mixer, going into an even cheaper Creative xfi extreme audio soundcard. The soundcard was a replacement for an Audigy 2 which I leant to a friend. Thing is, I...

Dynamic mic and mixer XLR input?

Thanks for the help and advice, guys. Much appreciated. Bobbsy, a new mic is next on the list. All the best. Phil

Dynamic mic and mixer XLR input?

Thanks for that. Does anyone know if the Xenyx 502 has Channel 1 as mic channel - that is, with the above figures of 50-60db gain as quoted above, or is it just the XLR input on channel 1, and not both XLR and 1/4 inch jack just below it? Thanks

Dynamic mic and mixer XLR input?

Hi, yes, it's a Behringer xenyx 502. The first channel has both a line in and an XLR input. When I first got it, I had an XLR adapter so I could put a 1/4 inch jacked mic straight into the XLR, but that got lost in a move. I've only recently dug out the mixer and set my computer up for recording...

What does this record monitoring switch do?

Ahh, I see. I'm watching a couple of M Audio delta 44s on ebay, so hopefully that problem will be solved soon. All the best Phil

Dynamic mic and mixer XLR input?

Hi, I've got a cheapo mic and a cheapo Behringer mixer which I'm using to record vocals and acoustic guitar on PC. I know it's not the best setup in the world, but I have a less than ideal budget for music. Anyway, will I get any improvement whatsoever plugging my 1/4 inch jack into the XLR...

What does this record monitoring switch do?

I've always been confused by monitoring. As is, my system, cheap, I know, is set up guitar in through a small behringer mixer via the cd/tape out which goes to the soundcard line in, then audio out via the headphone socket on the soundcard, back to the mixer via cd/tape out. I then use...

Please suggest a DAW software for a beginner

Another vote for Reaper. I used to use Magix Music Studio and recently downloaded the 2013 trial to reaquaint myself. I like it still, but I'm used to its layout and functionality. But that said, had some real problems with Latency. Also, no virtual keyboard for plugins, which is a pain...

    Newbie home recording question

Thanks for that. I appreciate the input. I think I'm pretty much there with audio recording in Magix Music Studio. I know how to get it to set it up, get it to work, get it to record, use the inbuilt effects and how to output. I guess that's why I'm at this point now - that is, I feel there so...

    Newbie home recording question

Hi, I've done some home recording before, using Audacity and Magix Music Studio. It's all just been line in and vocal audio. I've downloaded the demo of Magix music Studio 2013, and am interested in using such options as virtual keyboards and drums. Trouble is I have no real idea of how these...
