    Less is more?

Agreed, I've found 8 tracks to be just about the perfect amount to keep my recordings focused but give me enough room to to throw some tricks into the mix here and there. Even though I love the sound of my 4, I generally make a mess of things bouncing... getting better at it though.

DrummyQ is out! My first plugin

That looks pretty cool man... I like the idea, I'll have to give it a shot when my audio box comes back up. What language did you write it in?

    Post Your Analog Recordings Here...

I've often found beatles to be one of the hardest to cover.... a lot of weird chords and it never comes out right. maybe that's just me though!:)

Dean Evo XM - used guitar advice

I've got a slightly higher end evo (noir) and it's a fantastic guitar... as far as the XM goes, I can't say. I've personally liked most Deans that I have played but it does seem as though the electricals can be done fairly shoddy, nothing you cant fix with a soldering iron though.

    Tascam M-520

that's quite a price drop! If it is in good condition go for it.... Just make sure you test it and ensure that everything does in fact work, I would naturally be a little distrustful of this guy but hey if it's good then that seems like a fair price.

In the market for a new acoustic

I've only played one Seagull and albeit it was briefly.. but I do remember being quite impressed. If the rest of the line up is anything like the one I played would definitely second WhiteStrat's opinion.

tascal us-122l doesn't work with leopard?

hmm well the only other thing I could suggest would be if you haven't all ready, make sure you had removed all of the older drivers from the machine and try again. I have a us-122 which I have no problems with in leopard.... it's a different machine though, so sorry if none of this was any help.

I have no clue where to start !!!

Well why you need a direct box is a little technical... basically the 246 is expecting a line or mic level signal to come into it's inputs, but when you plug a guitar or a bass directly into it the signal coming from the instrument is a different electrical impedance so you will end up with a...

    Which analog multi-track?

As sweetbeats said, If 4 tracks is enough a 424 would be great... In terms of price though it's real difficult to say, since anything your looking at is gonna be used it's real tough to predict what sort of deal your gonna find. I recently almost came up on a 424mkII for 30 bucks but decided...

Nice man!, I actually just stumbled through the original thread when shoulderpain picked this up. It's really hard to believe how far this board has come.:) Well I missed out on that M-312B but from what it sounds like your saying I should go for an M-___ ;)... nah just kidding, remember...

    ST55 vs NT1a

I have an ST55... It's all right, I don't have too much experience with the NT1A but if you feel they are comparable and you all ready have two NT1A's then if I were you I would definitely save up for something if not more expensive but a little different... but as I said I have little...

I have no clue where to start !!!

the 246 is a cool machine, Beck gives a good basic overview of it's functions in this thread (note this is assuming you are using a mic to record your bass played through an amp) https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=204318 I used one for a while when I was much younger and just...

    Which Windows OS?

Sorry to hear you had problems with Vista, I would personally go with 7. I just did a box earlier this week with 7, and like altitude said I had no problems with any drivers for legacy equipment, I found it was running quite fast even with all the stupid fancy graphical effects, and was...
