    New user of Roland VS-2400

There doesn't seem to be a lot of VS users on this site. I own a VS2400 and love it. This site http://www.vsplanet.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi has a lot of answers. I had a VS840 before, so the transition was a little easier for me, but you will want to get a display screen to do your...

Zoom vs. Roland drum machines--any comparisons?

I own the Zoom Rhythmtrak 234 and I like it alot. I have two friends who own the Boss Dr Rhythm (? models) . Mine makes those sound like drum machines. ;) The zoom unit I have has no real preprogramed fills or preset beats, most everything you have to build from scratch, but I am a drummer...

    Is this vocalist outta tune?

I happen to be in the same situation. Younger girl (25) not much experience recording. She seems to go flat or waver on pitch on the sustained notes. We just keep teling her, "It sounds good, but how about one more take.." Does she think it's on pitch? If she would do multiple takes, maybe you...

    Roland VS2400CD vs. VS2480CD

No, you can expand the visual on a tracks wave down to .1 sec and take a small piece of that if you want. I have removed a single distorded spike from a recording so small that you can't tell anythings missing in playback. You can insert just as small.

    Roland VS2400CD vs. VS2480CD

I think the 2400 also has the 2 sec min. I rarely punch in, and when I do it's longer than 2 sec.

Is the VS2400CD right for me? Please help.

I have owned a VS2400cd for over a year now. I am very happy with it. It is very easy to use. It is 24bit with 24 tracks. I think roland still has a deal for a free monitor with purchase. You should be able to get one at GC for around $2000.00. I would also recommend getting the additional...

    line 6 pod xt pro

I have a friend who has 3, 1 older model and 2 new (the church that he plays at bought him 1) He brings it over to record direct with and gets good tones, but not great tones as far as metal or heavy stuff. The clean tones are nice.

dificulty with Mastering in the Roland vs2400cd

The mastering tool kits are all stereo and take 2 effect spaces. If you have the expansion board you can use the MTK in space 3. If not, record your mix down to the 2 tracks then master down again with the MTK. Doug

Finally got pics of my studio.

I also like seeing everyones studio, home or pro. Post as many pictures as possible. If I can see what's inside a pro studio, then maybe I won't waste money on bad gear choices.

    Want to kick the kick

When you say bought a drum set 3 weeks ago, does that mean you have only been playing drums for that long? If so, be patient!! It takes years of practice to be fast and quick. I have been playing drums for 35 years and always played single bass. On my new set i got about 6 months ago i went...

    Confidence in your own stuff...

I read something a long time ago that John Lennon didn't like his own music, he never thought he got it right. I think it's the guys that think there stuff is great that don't evolve and grow as songwriters.

    Worst Drummers...

Peter Criss of KISS is/was very average. Meg White......just so beginner.... can she do anything but basic stuff? Sometimes professionals are much better than they seem. On guitar, John 5 (John Lowery) played very basic crap with Marilyn Manson, but just released a solo album....unbelivable...
