    I agree with Chessrock..I did a session with a band last night.Hard to please kinda guys..Gave them a ruff for working on their overdubs.They called me after hearing the ruff CD...The drums sound great !......they might be able to work with this..I take my praise in dribs and drabs :D Overheads...

    Mini-Me or Grace 101 + Lucid AD

    The reason the Grace doesn't shine for vocals for me{I have a pair} is that its too abrupt/hard sounding..When it works on something it works well..When it doesn't its not a pleasing experience.YMMV/IMHO ect. ect. Lately I've been useing them for keyboard DI's when I need alot of "cut" in a mix...

    Recommended Preamps?

    For a bass/mono keys DI..perhaps a Avalon U5 which is very good for a "cleaner" sound or a GT Brick for DI{pre..I've never used one}..I don't know if they still make the Ditto.. as a way to go also.. there are so many choices :)

    Perhaps the Sheffields are modeled after the old 25 watters?Never liked those as much they reminded me of the EMC's,too loose for me..Different strokes :)
