    Tascam DP24 Master Fader

Hi Sorry for this dumb question, but i cant seem to find a definitive answer. I was wondering. Where do most of you Tascam DP24 owners leave the stereo master fader when recording? At the moment iv been leaving it just under 10 and that allows me to turn my pres up and get a decent signal...

    Alesis SR18 Assigning Outputs

Hi Iv managed to assign the kick to main output and the snare to main output. But i cant seem to to assign the rest i.e Hi Hats, Toms etc, to the Aux output which i believe is in stereo. Would i need a split two cable jack for it to work? Iv read that it can be done, but cant seem to find out...

    Tascam DP 24 reverb.

Hi. Im not 100%, but i think if you have say track 1 and 2 for instance assigned to input A, then you cant change the effect settings for individual tracks. But if you have each track assigned to a different input(Track 1 to A,track 2 to B) you should be able to change settings for each...

    Tascam DP24 High Z

Hi. Im trying to record guitar direct with the DP24. My set up is guitar>Blackstar HT40>Palmer PDI03(cab sim)>Dp24. The problem is, the DP24 manual says that when using guitar direct with nothing in the chain, the DP24 should be set to "guitar", but it says if something is put in the chain, set...

    Muddy Guitar Sound

Thanks for your reply. My Tascam DP24 manual says that when plugging a guitar directly into the DP24, i should set the switch on the back of the unit to "guitar", which im guessing is High Z? But when anything else gets put in the chain, e.g pedals or sims? it says set it to "line". But i tried...

    Muddy Guitar Sound

Hi. Im trying to record guitar direct (Fender Stratocaster), using my Blackstar HT40 into my Palmer PDI 03 then into my Tascam DP24. It seems no matter what i do the guitar sounds muddy and muffled, i try to compensate with a bit of high end but then it just sounds fizzy and harsh. The sound...

Palmer PDI 03 with Blackstar HT40

Hi, Bit of a newbie question here but.... Im trying to record my Blackstar HT40 through my Palmer PDI 03 into my recorder, but just cant work out the routing. The only way it seems i can come out of the Blackstar into the Palmer, is through the Blackstars emulated output, but that just bypass...

    Recording vocals into TASCAM DP24

Thanks for your reply. The kind of vocal is "blues rock" i would say, eg Paul Rodgers etc. I have tried going straight in to the DP24, it was ok but the levels and sound were very inconsistent, if that makes sense? Would you suggest trying to record as hot as possible and using the DP24s...

    Recording vocals into TASCAM DP24

Hi. I have finally (with help from many on this forum) achieved a good sound recording guitars, bass and drums with the DP24. But the one thing im still struggling to record, is vocals. Im using a Rode NT1-A and a DBX 286A preamp. I realise these are not top end units but the sound im getting is...

    Tascam DP24 Recording volume

Hi, just looking for a bit of advice. When recording on my DP24, does it matter if i don't record "Hot"? When recording my vocals, they always seem quieter than my guitars, bass, drums etc when i play them back. Does that matter? Or can i just do my final mix pretty low and then raise the...
