    -->Country Blues<--

sounds great...good guitar sound. The only area I would point out is the snare kind of way out back if you know what I mean, and somewhat boring...how about some crazy fills man :)

A song from a session I did today...

better. I would still tone the snare down a bit, double track with a slight delay the 'power' vocals, and bring up the guitar a touch...I think the vocals are kind of sitting out of the mix a bit and bringing up the guitar may help that.

I have to disagree on the Vox, I think they are horendus (sp?) I am thinking double track for the 'angry parts' Something..anything. The hair on my back stood up!

    Only one short tip

Less is More: You will usually get better results taking some thing OUT (especially eq) than putting something IN (especially eq)

    A song

during the chorus the snare seems to stick out a bit much. for the verses the guitar seems (to me) to be trampling on the vox a bit and the drums are too far back. I would pan the toms in a bit more mono too. Like the sublty of the electric guitar in the background.

first release ever! check it out....

I guess the sounds are good...this stuff is kind of out there to me, so to say the drums didn't sound natural is probably good :)

    little help please

budget...not much :) going for creativity over cashivity...we have the sound somewhat under control by using moving blankets spaced away from the walls. We are basically building this over time...hoping to do the floor and some framing this weekend. Currently it is an open floor plan, other...

    little help please

ok...working on a new studio underneath an auto repair garage...we work opposite hourse...so its kind of nice. Here is my general plan. I am completely encased in concrete, so my biggest issue is sound quality...not leakage. I am not looking to make major label stuff here...just good music/...

    My guitar stinks!!!

I bought a guitar from a smoker...YUK! I got one of those country candle smelly things (almost like the pine tree's you hang in the car) put it in the pouch of the guitar case...took a few weeks, but it smells perty now.

    Rip apart new mix, please!

ya, one of the things I do (which almost always insures it will be wrong) is to put a verb on it and then play with how much dry and wet I let through.

    New Tunes To Critique

Nowhere to go: Vox: I think you may be singing out of your range on 'go', try bringing that not down of up. The vox need to be brought forward more Guitar: LOVE IT, sounds like REM circa reckoning Bass: is there one? Drums: lifeless...pump up the volume. Song: worth working on...it could be...

    Rip apart new mix, please!

I agree...the vocals are just kind of out there until the doubled parts come in...I like those parts a lot, but the vocals sound thin until then...then comes the doubled and its like...wow...then they go back to being thin again.
