    The headphone dilemma

Get something louder for the room the baby sleeps in. We use a big humidifier that is pretty damn loud, it covers most sounds we can make in the house. Like people said, all babies are different... but if the baby can't hear you downstairs over the humidifier (or whatever), baby can't wake up...

What setup should I have for a recording studio strictly for hip hop vocals.

Is there a good thread or article you know of addressing room treatment? EDIT: Just noticed there is a whole section on this topic. I'll go there and check it out. :)

Glad it's working for you.... however you got it to work. :) Now you just have to get all the band members to Stick to the schedule. haha

    Band Schedules

It's a nice solution because there is only 'one' document. So there aren't old copies floating around.

You can also use Google docs. You can have a live version online that others can get permission by you to edit (or not). It's a bit more useful for live document sharing, if that's what you were looking for.

Would you do analog recording ?

I answered on the first page. I have enjoyed reading peoples responses, that's why I am still following along. I just don't understand why it seems the regulars around this site seem to judge and claim unworthy peoples questions in the newbie section. It's as if folks are only allowed to ask...

Would you do analog recording ?

I thought it was a fun question. Not sure why someone asking simple questions rubs you guys so wrong. Why bother reading? Just to get bothered?

    Hello from Marietta GA!

Welcome Tim. I'm guessing you got the deal of the day on it?

Would you do analog recording ?

I would say No. I'm interested in too many things in life to do things the hard way or old fashioned way. I'm sure my attitude pisses off purists, 'these new kids and their lack of respect for the past'. I want fast, easy, cheap. I'd like to have a home studio I can put in a backpack. And...

Always wanted to make recording like I heard on CD, now..

Why not just play the tape on a stereo and mic the speaker into the PC. Then you should get the analog sound into the PC. :)

Do different Audio Interfaces make noticeably different sounds?

So my question is in your experience do different Audio Interfaces make noticeably different sounds? Here's where I'm coming from, I was using an Avid MBox 3 for a few weeks, then picked up a Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6. I don't think there are any different settings in my DAW (cubase...

Focusrite 2i2, Rode NT5, Gear4Music Boom stand, and cable.

If you are getting that mic new it will come with it's own stand mount/ mic clip. You shouldn't need to buy another one.

Audio interface monitoring with 3.5mm cable and computer speakers

Input Sensitivity and Impedance: 200 mV/ 47 k-ohms (Line) And if by DAW software meters you mean the ones for each channel in the mixer view, the guitar and bass guitar are both hanging around -10. About -8 to -12 most of the time. I'll pick up some 1/4" to RCA adapters while I'm out.
