Can i install my DAW on a laptop instead of a desktop?

There is no licence issue with SONAR, there might be hardware limitations depending on the power of your laptop

Panning disappears when I bounce or export as mono

I wouldn't even bother with bouncing it - just do a File > Export of your mix and take that to your mastering guy. The guts above are correct - once you render something as mono it will appear centred in your mix. You can still pan mono tracks L/R but to bounce the whole thing as mono? You are...

    Mono Mix (further understanding)

If you can get everything clear & distinct whilst working in mono, you will be AMAZED at the separation you get by the time you do pan things out

My Pro 40 went and died and I need some guidance here!

Don't blame Focusrite! You should be more careful where/how you plug things in. My Focusrite interface is connected by Firewire and it would take major strength to plug it in upside down. Also, it's been running perfectly since 2007. I'd be more inclined to be wary of buying second hand - you...

Sonar 8 Inputs ignore saving procedure

From a practical point of view, there's no difference between Omni & None. Each module that you insert (I'm assuming these are Vsti's yes?) will have individual access to Midi ports 1 - 16

Loading Backup BUN files from Sonar 2 to Sonar 4

If you've still got Sonar 2 kicking around, open the bun files in there and export your wavs directly.

    Setup for acoustic guitar recording

Try a Blumlein pair, but you'll need a couple of good ribbon mics for best results.

    Hiss/White Noise in Studio Monitors

No it certainly isn't normal. My Adam P11A's are deathly silent, even when connected to mixer/DAW (with nothing playing obv). Your store manager is lying to you.

    Studio one wav files export/save

If you are both using the same software, just copy the entire project to your flash drive. This has to be the simplest solution surely?

Hi guys, just trying to get feedback and ask about my mixing process

Bear in mind that any reference track you use to compare your mixes to will be already mastered, and in all probability, maxed to the hilt on volume, so the first thing you should do is lower them considerably, so you're comparing like with like. Also make sure the ref track bypasses anything...

    delays and bouncing

In Sonar, you can simply grab hold of the right hand edge of the clip containing the waveform and drag it for however long you want it to play (slip-editing) You WILL pick up guitar noise if you move as much as a millimetre, let alone put the guitar down. it's all about DISCIPLINE :spank:

    Changing Tempo After Tracking

You can with Midi but it's a bit more difficult with audio. If you have an account on the Sonar forum, ask over there. SONAR | Cakewalk Forums

    Importing Songs from Older version

Which is why it makes absolute sense to do a "save as" to a different folder/path so you DON'T overwrite the original.

    Changing Tempo After Tracking

^^^this is seriously convoluted and unnecessary. To extend the length of any clip back to 01:01:000 just drag hold of the left hand edge and slip-edit it backwards. Done.

Bass guitar freq that bugs me

Stick a frequency analyser on a recorded track of your bass. If you see a spike at 250Hz then it's the guitar, if it doesn't then it's your room / hearing.
