OK
Tails out would be... say you have a fresh new reel of tape. You would load it onto the take-up side of you recorder, then rewind the tape onto the left side. You then record onto the tape from the "takup reel" on to your new empty reel. The result is when you have recorded on the tape...
I'd say that you should be looking for a mixer that has 8 subgroups. They would generally be given model names like 16-8-2 (16 tracks, 8 subgroups, stereo channel).
The subgroups are what you would send to the 8 track tape, then from the tape you can send them back into the mixer for mixdown...
Ahhhhh Cream eggs. I'm ot sure the yankees get cream eggs, the poor souls. I've sent a few boxs over to some friends in utah coz they've never had one. I wish i was there to see thier face when they bite into one for the first time...
i do mot work for cadbury in any way, shape, or form ;)
i've just had a go at recording some stuff and it seems i'm gonna have to go back and do another setup. It's not great at the moment but it's getting better. I think it'll take a few goes before i get it right.
the eq is a bitch!
-60db ish. I think you just need to get it as low as it will go.
If i undrstand it right, the bias sends out a signal of say 100khz, and the trap filters it out again. Just guessing mind, but it's doesn't really matter anyway;)
yeah, connect it to your sound card only. I have tried it and it seems to work ok so far. I've just finished a calibration but havn't done a recording yet so i'm not sure how successful i've been yet
I've worked out a way to set the bias traps.
the reason the multimeter shows no change when adjusting the traps is because the MM is not read small enough amouts of voltage. so if you rig up a the MM probes to the input of a level meter (on your pc or whatever) it will show a level that you can...
well no actually. if the machine is rated at +4 , then thats the maximumlevel your machine should be calibrated to put out no matter what tape you are using.
the +4 is for intigrating with other +4 machine and likewise with -10.
the output level of your machine should be +4 no matter what tape you are using. if you use tape that has a low output ie. 185 nwb/m, the tape noise will be higher against the recorded sigal because the streangth of the signal must be weaker to avoid distortion. Higher level tapes such as 456...
yep i have the same problem. my mm says 0.005 or something and nomatter how i change it there is no difference.
wow two threads hijacked with the same issues... not bad going hey...
looking at my manual, i nee to have a load on the output of 10kohm.
that is probably why my head is about to explode and why non of my readings make any sense
AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
