    2 songs. Level check.

I agree with what K-dub said on both songs. The vocal level on That Moment is a little hotter than on Never Mind and sounds great to me. Mix sounds good too. Vocals on Never Mind are tucked in the mix but I can clearly hear all words. I like the stereo spread on those guitars. They may be a...

    Small Stuff

Can anyone guess who is playing drums on this?? I started this tune with some sampled drum loops and an electric guitar but before long I knew it could use live drums. So here it is with the help of a very talented musician who was kind enough to play on this tune. Let me know what you think of...

To Wah or not to Wah......

The wah is cool and I like that the tone contrasts more from the other guitar tracks. That said I really like your straight guitar tone and it's sharper transient attack for this song. So I lean toward no wah just a little bit. Cool tune and all the instruments sound good to me.

    Hiccup durring mix

This is a first for me. I did a real time mix back into a stereo track in Sonar X2 as usual and about 35 seconds into the song there is a hiccup in the tempo. There is only 2 tracks of stereo acoustic guitar and Kontakt 5 playing a sample. So I froze the synth track hoping it would help but it...

I'm struggling with this Funky, French, Pop House mix/master!

I'd bring up the guitar licks early in the song before the guitar solo. Kinda funky guitar tone but I think it works in this song. Why do french women sound so sexy??

Short n Sweet. Guitar player plays violin, viola, cello and bowed double bass. Kinda.

Haven't heard any string arrangements on this board yet so I thought I'd post one. Recently got Kirk Hunter Studios Spotlight strings and found it relatively easy and inspiring to work with. Realistic samples, vibrato and articulations IMO. What do you think? Paul Beard Songs | ReverbNation

    Virtual guitar amps/analog guitar amps

Greg, my ears are ringing just looking at your rig. I do agree with you that a good amp sounds and behaves better than sims on stage. However amp sims have gotten pretty good in the last few years and are bound to get even better. Some of the best paying gigs here in San Diego are at the casinos...

First New Post In A Long While - How's This Sounding So Far?

Actually I think the kick is loud enough. Perhaps my comic relief was misplaced. Excellent job, good song and yes I would resist the urge to add another guitar track. Sounds good as a trio. BTW can I assume that you recorded the instruments live perhaps with a scratch vocal then added the vocals...

First New Post In A Long While - How's This Sounding So Far?

I think it sounds great and like that you recorded this live. Great guitar work too. Drums could perhaps be a bit bigger But I think I have just the thing it needs. Check this out: https://scontent-a-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc3/p480x480/1499600_631736450221282_1008119963_n.jpg

    My Recording *Please Judge*

I liked the song and your voice is unique. That's a tough song to sing especially when you changed tempos but I thought you did a decent job with it. Nice acoustic guitar playing.

Ok bendingrover I took your advice to heart and remixed this song. I think you were absolutely right about the intro percussion part and I found some other levels that I thought needed taming. Here it is if anyone gives a hoot: Paul Beard Songs | ReverbNation

    The Jongleurs - The Peddler

Nice song and performance. Acoustic guitars sound great as does your vocals. Percussion part may not compliment this song as much as it could but at least it's not busy or overbearing. Great sound overall.

Nice tune and well produced. Sounds like you nailed it, radio ready to me. I don''t think I would do a 6th mix, Good job!

Big enough or too much clutter? I am a guitar playing solo recording guy right now and I'm new to mixing with strings. I recently bought Kirk Hunter Pop Rock Strings and have been working on getting a good arrangement and mix with it. I layered a synth pad, bowed double bass and bass guitar so...

    Caress

I like the song, it kept my interest to the end. I like how the song builds with the the added tension before it resolves at the end. Good mix all in all, able to hear different parts clearly. The only criticism I have is a subjective one and why I think I'm usually not drawn to sequenced music...

Rock: "Don't Count Me Out (The Rob Ford Comeback Song)"

Cool song. I just listened to it so you may have remixed the song and posted based on the suggestions you heard. Before reading through the posts I thought the kick was too loud and too sonically big which drowns out the bass line. Have you tried carving out some frequencies with EQ? When I was...
