yep, i'm set to go now. i can take the signal from the input gain section or after the eq/dynamics and send it to the daw, while using the entire main output or auxes for headphone mixes.

there is a presonus studiolive 16.4.2 for sale locally for $900. i might pull the trigger on it. it would solve a lot of my problems for sure. i watched a bunch of audio technica drum mic videos and they seem to have some decent products. i will wait and see if i get that mixer before...

yep, get a new card. external interfaces are generally very good nowadays. one thing that can be avoided (using an external interface) is the internal noise a pc puts out.

how do you go about monitoring the signal and giving the drummer and other musicians a headphone mix? i know i can give them a mix on the playback that will sound good, but what about during the recording?

i have a small shed that i turned into a studio and i want to record my drum kit. i am looking for the cheapest way to get it done decently. i tried triggers but was quickly frustrated with triggers falling off, false triggering, no triggering and don't get me started on triggering cymbals...

just my opinion, but: pitch correct the vocals. they get flat too often and it is noticeable. back off the vocal reverb or at least set the pre-delay to a higher number so that the vocals come through before being drowned in reverb. try 20ms or so. pan the main vocal track in the center...

i have gotten the guitar tone i wanted many times over using the eleven rack. i have successfully copied many artist's tone close enough to fool many people. with today's technology anything is possible if you have some time to dial it in.
