after a lot of research i picked http://www.drastiksolutions.com to configure my DAW for me.
i couldn't find DAWG, but drastic beat wavedigital and plus - (invaluable bonus) - they turned out to be local to me (mpls/st.paul area).
justin and the drastik guys really know their shit.
after a lot of research, i picked http://www.drastiksolutions.com to configure my DAW for me.
not only were they the best priced, but i got lucky enuff to have them turn out to be local (twin cities, mn).
justin and the guys there really know their shit.
we should have a blind-fold taste test on this whole mac vs pc shit and have a cd compiled of mixed tracks from each and let ppl guess which platform created which tunes - AND WHICH SOUND THE BEST. but, i bet they both sound great.
who gives a fuck if bill gates is satan's mother as long as we...
thanx ola - well it sux that they dont mention that in the specs.
another guy told me that he'll record either at 44.1 and be able to use compression and effects, or he'll record at 96 and add the effects with n-track.
say, jaybird - i see u mentioned minnesota, so maybe u can answer this for me.
i'm close to finishing up my specifications/final questions for ordering a DAW. i lke the idea of having someone provide a totally integrated package so that it is (hopefully) set up right, and so i'll have some...
slim - sorry i cant help u on yer question, but the reason that im posting is that i just saw a post that u put up back in november describing your set-up and its exactly the same set-up that i came to a conclusion on after about two weeks of research. my intentions are to use the aardvark...

thanks atomic - another life-saver tip (maybe?)
well, then it looks like its boiled down to the aardvark direct pro 24/96 (unless u know of something i should know about this one too - lol).
so here's a summary of my sound card investigation:
digi001 - $800 - outputs not balanced, inputs not...
atomic - thanx dude, dont now how i coulda missed those points on the digi001 - i'm thinking that both balanced outputs and 24 bit inputs are crucial - so, back to the spec sheets.
i'm tracking the sound card question in more detail on another thread ("sound card dilemma" on this same board)...
thanks for the good info, al - hey, i'm even beginning to understand this stuff (beginning to).
the 1010 sounds worth it, if for nothing else, having the converters in a rack box instead of on the card - i've heard this really cuts down on noise.
thanks for pointing out that the Omni I/O...
man - this bulletin board is great! - i'm learning alot, the ppl are cool, and the links are super.
