Re: Re: Nuemann Tlm103 going cheap, cheap, cheaper!
Arrgh, I didn't want to read that! Oh well, I gotta keep my fingers crossed - I just ordered a sound card from them. Handed them my VISA card number and all. But I think it's worth a bit of gambling if I can save 200 € in the process (= almost...
I have the DSP24ve and I do not recommend it. Noisy inputs and various strange things going on with that card. If you expand it with the digital bracket for S/PDIF ins and outs, you're asking for trouble. I had mine working flawlessly for about 6 months though, before all hell broke loose. There...
Shouldn't that be "counter-clockwise"? For if it's cranked clockwise, it takes the signal coming from the S/PDIF in jack and puts it through the monitor out jacks, but when cranked the other way it takes the incoming analog signal(s).
I have one of these. It's a sweet piece of equipment, and...
Well, you could do a search for "flat ear plugs" or something on www.google.com and see what else you can come up with. Hopefully you'll find something that you could import.
IIRC, I read the results of a listening test somewhere on the internet, where not one out of a bunch of audiophiles participating in this test, claimed to hear any difference between a 256 kbps VBR LAME MP3 and the original. Supposedly better-sounding than a 320 kbps Fraunhofer MP3. I don't know...
More RAM won't solve your problem. The only way I see to take the load off your CPU is reducing the number of tracks and plugins, alternatively buy a new CPU or overclock the one you already got. Sorry.
But the additional RAM will make your computer run more smoothly, especially if you use...
Since you're working with electronic music, compression shouldn't be necessary in most cases. I think it's very often overused in that genre. Your songs have an open and airy quality to their mixes, which I find very enjoyable. A lot of compression would just squeeze the life out of them and...
Tex, I'm positive it was set to OUT. I checked and double-checked the settings.
I haven't got hold of another MIDI device to try, but I tried to "short-circuit" the MIDI in and out of my sound card, by connecting them with one cable. I couldn't record anything that way either, but maybe I'm not...
You should be able to transfer your audio to your PC via the SCSI port, if you have a SCSI controller card in your PC. If you don't have such a card, get one, it's way cheaper than buying an additional burner for exclusive use in the Roland. Then you can burn or your regular PC burner.
I think.
The DM5 has a horizontal graphic bar that shows the velocity which the note event had. This only shows that the triggers and the preview button work.
No, I am not. I suppose I should try record something from another MIDI device, such as a keyboard... I just have to find someone who has a...
I didn't know where to put this, since I don't know specifically what is at fault, with many components involved. It does focus on MIDI though, so here goes.
I have (borrowed) an Alesis DM5 drum module. I wish to set it up so it both can send and receive MIDI data to and from my STAudio DSP24VE...
Re: Re: Drum module questions
Ouch. I had that idea too... my drummer owns one and has a set of triggers. Figured it would be easier to record the drums that way instead of buying $1500 worth of mics and sound card, only to record in a room that sounds like poo anyway.
I understand there is a...
