I totally agree with Vurt.
If you're trying to establish your name you should give the CD's away for free (or double-charge your friends, parents and grandparents). In that way you have a better chance that people actually hear what you've recorded. If you want to sell CD's after a gig you throw...
I'd work out some more songs, I think there's a lot more interest in a full CD rather than one with 5 songs on it. 10 bucks sounds fair to me for a full CD.

As long as a mic SOUNDS good, it IS good, in my opinion. I don't have any experience with this mic, but I've also tried some mics on my guitar amp and other stuff. Some worked, some sounded like shit, but that's OK. There's no right or wrong here, if you think it sounds good everything goes...
Irish
I'd vote for October and the Joshua Tree by U2 (actually Eno, he's a genius. I'd do anything to just watch him work one day).
I also like the first record of the Corrs (Irish band), Forgiven, not Forgotten. Crystal clear vocals, you should check it out!
It's no coincidence that I chose...
NUNO
I'd vote for Nuno on "Whole Harted". Beautiful 12-string sound. And of course anything from Stevie Ray Vaughn. Other suggestions: Robert Cray, Richie Sambora and R.L. Burnside.

Keep the name! It doesn't matter what your band name is, a very popular punkrock band here in the Netherlands is called the "Heideroosjes" (a name of a cute little flower)... It's more like a name for a kids-choir but it seems to work for them. As long as your name is short and catchy people...
You're not alone in this universe...
I play everyting myself so I have to record one track at a time, too. I lay down the drum track first, than bass, than keyboard and last but least the vocals. It's time consuming, but fun job. I always tell people I do it deliberately because I want "total...
I know what I'm talking about,
A friend of mine has a Ford Fiesta (VERY small car, half the size of an escort) and threw in a turbocharged block in it. The car did great on sprints but forget about making turns with it, it's way overpowered. It just wasn't a sports car...

Okay, seems clear.
I did a replacement job with a Fender vintage single-coil pickup one and it did turn out OK, better sound.
I would keep the bridge humbucker (or get another humbucker, if you want, but no single coil) and put the single-coil near the neck. That'll keep the twang out, and you...
Man, how many times can you get that post on the BBS before getting kicked out!! I mean, this smells like spam to me, and there are people watchin you out there!
If you have something to say or ask, please do so. If you want people to go to your crappy website, do it somewhere else or get...
If it's a cheap crappy guitar with cheap crappy pickups it won't sound good with good pickups. I hate to disappoint you, but if you have the cheapest plyboard glued-neck strat copy available and you put the best Les Paul/Dimarzio/Fender custom shop humbuckers in it...well, it will still sound...
Hi Unobus!
So you already have the TASCAM 424... Too bad it doesn't work on you!
I meant get the multitracker 2nd hand, you can use a multitracker and a software-based programme with each other, but why would you?
As far as the drumset, I don't have a drumset either, but I use the drumkeys on...
I forgot to ask!
Do you play any of these instruments yourself?
Not that it does matter, just curious! I also play everything myself, I think it's fun to do (TOTAL control over everything, man!) but it's also hard, because when you record everything after each other you don't have a reference...
Hi Unobus!
Welcome to the world of homerecording...
If you're completely new to homerec. I suggest you check out the http://www.homerecording.com site first, it'll give you tons of information. It's better than any book!
Setting up a studio isn't so hard, but it depends on the space you have...
Thanks to all of you!
I bought some guitar-hanging-devices at the music shop saturday, now they're hanging on a wall. They don't seem to resonate, I checked this first. Furthermore I built a small cabinet for my multitracker and some rackmount, so I can just slide it to wherever it's needed. I...
You can also fix some lights in it, I don't know if this thing is gonna work, but it'll look sweet! A downright babe magnet! Okay, maybe that's a little overdone, but a slanted suspended ceiling does look cool, I gues...
Good luck! When you finished it, make sure to post a pic, I can't wait to...
RAW? What do you mean raw? This is a joke, right? I mean c'mon, you don't really believe that do you? Everybody is serious about their music, but I think you're taking this just a little to far man... Go see somebody.
Didn't everybody said that in the 60's too? So you're not that new I guess...
Then what is the advantage of a "cloud" to a normal suspended ceiling? If you make a sturdy suspended ceiling with enough sound proofing it'll make a great storage room too.
But that's just my 2cents...
