Well this thread has become quite the read :D
Either way, I know that I'm going to say "[...] so in Ableton instead of setting my metronome to 'four four' I set it to 'one four'. Then, as you can see, on the grid 4 buttons represent 1 bar."
Yeah, yeah, most definitely.
I'm just explaining this step sequencer. The visualization of the loop changes depending on what your time signature is set as in Ableton. I just wanted to make sure I say "Mine is in 1/4" properly :p
The only DAW I can think of that is really different is Ableton Live.
FWIW I use Cubase and Ableton.
I've experimented with others. PT, Reaper, Logic, etc. even GarageBand and Audacity. Cubase and Ableton are my favs.
Thanks!
Yeah, pretty much.
When I first used a metronome for guitar playing it was an old school single clicker. Then when I started playing with bands time was kept by tapping a foot or hitting a hi-hat. Then on my first multitrack default metronome was the same.
Anything more than a single...
Kind of a dumb question I always set my metronomes to 1/4 instead of 4/4.
Anyway, I've been pronouncing it "one-four" just as I pronounce 4/4 as "four-four".
Is that right?
Mentally I wonder whether it's "one fourth" or "quarter" or something else.
I'm doing a tutorial and have to say it...
Hi folks!
Got a Glyph GPT50 to record to.
I use Cubase and Ableton, and I'm wondering how I actually record to the external drive (which I'm running through FireWire btw).
Is it just a matter of saving the project to the Glyph, opening it from there and then everything will write to that...
:'(
Dang. I've got so much stuff to move and rescan.
I guess I'll just keep things as they are now with all the stuff that's already installed.
Looks like I have a project drive though :D
Live 9 Suite is what really unexpectedly ate things up.
(Which I'll do that review of once Push comes...
I think at this point since I don't know what it'll take to route Komplete 9 Ultimate and all it's contents from the internal drive to the Glyph I might just turn it into a project drive until I can get things figured out then buy a second.
If that's even necessary... I mean does Komplete count...
I just bought a Glyph GPT50 (or GTP50... whatever it's called.) because my flash storage in my computer is filling up with sound libraries.
I figured I'd use it as a project drive. Now I'm wondering though - should I make it my sample/sound library/my Native Instruments Komplete drive instead...
Robert 'RZ' Zildjian Dead -- Cymbal Honcho Dies at 89 | TMZ.com
I had no idea that he was the founder of SABIAN.
When I first read "Robert Zildjian founder of SABIAN cymbals rest in peace" on facebook I thought "wow. what an idiot. Zildjian = Zildjian. Duh."
I'm a Paiste man myself, so I don't...
You could try to filter the other sounds out.
Sounds like you're doing some live recording. In which case I don't really see why it would be much of a problem.
Yeah, I'm on 6 still.
i just picked up Live 9 Suite and Push, so I can't really justify the upgrade right now. I love 6. And 7 will only get better with time. So... you know...
