I don't think that hardware;OS issues are the problem as much as OS;software issues are (were) for me at least.
Some little update would always lead into some issue for Cubase causing it to BSOD. Or mismanage CPU power. And/or my plug-ins would have to be updated (to fix whatever issue with...
Well not stop updating all together.
I think most around here would agree that automatic updates are the devil. A lot of people don't connect their studio computers connected to the internet. I used to but turned off all the automatic updates, etc.
Yeah, I got into a discussion about the...
I'm working on some material I'll be releasing later this year, but for now I don't. (So feel free to avoid my advice :D lol)
I've spent the last couple of years making tutorials and writing for websites and haven't finished the ever-looming album. Tutorial example here includes a tiny bit of a...
Nothing personal :)
Your voice is fine it's just hard to put my finger on what doesn't make the vocals sit well in that song.
I think saying singing with emotion would've been a better way to say what I meant.
Some people like to get a picture and pretend that they're singing to someone.
Look into compression techniques to get things to "pop" and sit properly in your mixes.
For instance in this track here proper compression on the drums would bring them up front in the mix.
The vocal production and performance could use some work too :o
It just feels a little lifeless.
btw...
I've always been kind of confused about what it is that producers do. I used to think they did one thing, then I found out that "no, that's what engineers do". Then I thought they did something else and found out that "no, that's what mixing engineers do".
So I don't really know what he...
I'm another Tascam 8 track to DAW guy.
I HATED DAW recording when I first started. I had one issue after another, but in the long run I found out that most of those problems stemmed from my computer at the time.
I since switched to Mac (I'm still a Windows guy at heart though) and have not had...
I hear the new G3 rokits are incredible though.
The G3 rokit 5s have a better response than the G2 rokit 8s ... crazyness :D
I know people who love them Yamaha's but they never appealed to my because of the rear bass port :(
Figured it would make things difficult in the less than ideal...
Focal Alpha 50 | Sweetwater.com
It says the response is down to 45Hz which is what the CMS65s say but after I got IsoAcoustic stands and spent a year listening thru them they go to 30Hz.
Idk about these since they haven't been released yet, but with their existing products (the CMS and SM9...
My first instrument!
With that said that's my answer to this question lol. I started playing tabla when i was 6 and took some lessons for a couple months. then when i was 8 i stopped. It's not that I cant play them, I just havent found a way to integrate them into tracks without sounding out of...
And I think that's basically how it is universally. I'm just not sure if that still applies with it being on a 1/8" adapter.
Oh well, guess I'll find out when the adapter arrives :D
Had some lolz at this thread. Also had some smh moments.
It's sucks that I've seen so many people come here in the "Newbies" section within the last year or two looking for advice (admittedly with vague questions. probably because they don't have enough knowledge to know how to ask what they're...
Sometimes I just want to listen through or work on monitors without plugging in my interface, powering on my mains, etc...
I remembered that I still have my old KRK Rokit 6 monitors sitting in boxes... so I've decided to take advantage of them and use them for hassle-free monitoring from my...
KRK Rokit 6 G2's were my first set and I really learned how to critically listen on them.
Since then I've upgraded to the Focal CMS65 and CMS40 pairs so I've been able to compare them with high end monitors. I'm not going to lie and say the Focals aren't miles ahead of them, because they are -...
