    How Is RMS Measured?

That last paragraph is what the question was asking, and what we've been discussing. ;) So if a meter is reading whatever as an RMS value, what is that an average of? Is it meaningful or is it taken over a wide range of samples and slow to respond? And an RMS value for the amplitude of a...

    Group Buy Interest?

Several reasons. I would think that most people here know most of the reasons why I would have chosen to involve myself at this point. Are you really that curious? Or do you just not like what I've said?

    Which software to use?

I loved Sonar and Vegas, Reaper became my choice. Until I switched to Apple, there was no point in using anything else. The quality of the plugs that come with it is really high too, pitch correction and Drumagog for free? Yes please.

    Group Buy Interest?

I'm not a customer of Chance's ('in the group'). 'Decade' was an exaggeration of the interminable period it's taken for him to fulfil his orders. And I think you're crazy if you believe someone would spend this amount of time peddling gear out of the goodness of his heart. And if he did, then...

    How Is RMS Measured?

I guess one way to find out would be to use a couple of different measures of rms, from different developers, and see if the numbers are the same. It's an interesting question though, the real-time ones can't be instantaneous because 0.707 of the peak at any point in time isn't a reading worth...

    Group Buy Interest?

Yeah, or you could advertise it as "a crap shoot for modders" rather than a great opportunity for frugal home recording hobbyists to get amazing gear for peanuts. 'Weeding out' the very people Chance was pitching to is missing the point. If his pitch was "I can get some gear on the cheap in...

    Group Buy Interest?

You wouldn't say that about any other reseller, why is Chance's business exempt? You don't really believe Chance is no more than a go-between do you? If you believe what he says, he has spent the last decade or so fulfilling orders for free (not even an obscenely rich person would give his...

    Group Buy Interest?

He's ignoring it. He pops in, ignores everything that going on, tells us that he's busy but it's all going well, and the pops back out again. It's not going well and he would do well to admit as much.

    Group Buy Interest?

I think that's the right thing to do. Complete honesty is not usually a bad policy in dealing with the authorities, especially when you've done nothing wrong and want to do it right. It's just unbelievable to me that he would have the temerity to start talking about the next round when he's...

    Group Buy Interest?

Unless it works differently over there, the important thing isn't what you say they're worth, it's what you paid for them. Keep that receipt well-hidden, or bring it out straight away and blame it on the retailer.

    Group Buy Interest?

It's quite easy to see how Chance believed his off-the-peg non-working preamps were like custom-made Neve clones when he looks at this thread and believes that despite two 'rounds' of people being sold bogus junk that this would be the perfect time to start talking about the next round. I...

You might have more luck in the Mic Forum, so I'll move the thread there.

    Group Buy Interest?

Oh dear. Chance is setting you up to commit tax fraud. People get busted on this all the time, it's not worth trying to duck the duty.

Yeah. I've got three different pedal cases and it's happened with them all, and I bought some 3M strip from Homebase and that did the same. Sticky residue on the pedal, velcro attached to the board. Lame!

    Test Post

I will do. It's not struggling to stick to the pedal, I'm left with a strip of adhesive attached to the pedal and a strip of velcro attached to the board. So it's struggling to stay stuck to the reverse of the velcro strip.

Yeah but the adhesive attached the pedal to the velcro is rubbish!

I clean the bottoms of the pedals and then stick the velcro to them. Next time I put the pedal box upright, the velcro stays stuck to the case, the sticky layer stay on the pedals, and the sticky layer comes away from the velcro strip.

I wish velcro did actually work. I've tried four different brands and it always ends the same way, with my pedals rattling around and my spare power connectors shorting out on the pedal cases.
