Hooking a pair of KRK RP5's up to my laptop?

Is it as easy as running a Y cable with RCA plugs on the ends from my Macbook Pro's headphone jack into the back of each monitor?

    Sony MDR-7506's vs. Sennheiser HD280's

Thanks everyone. Like I said, these wouldn't be for in-detail mixing and whatnot. They'd just be for a quick listen, but with quality, unlike a pair of regular cheap headphones. Maybe I should just forget headphones and get some studio monitors?

    Sony MDR-7506's vs. Sennheiser HD280's

Yes, everyone. I thought first, and used the search feature. Found lots of hits, but not on the specific question I have. Most reviews were about how well or how bad the isolation is in a set of headphones like these, but that's not what I'm looking for. I want a pair of headphones that will be...

Audix D2's/Sennheiser e604's: A Cheap Solution to Micing Toms for Recording?

I'm looking to possibly get a set of tom mics for recording, not live sound. I'm looking to go cheap, budget of around 300-400 bucks. Are the Audix D2's or the Sennheiser e604's a good choice for a studio tom mic? Any other suggestions? Another note, I'll be running them right into a mixer...

    Looking to buy a mic

AT2020 for sure. I have two, use them as drum overheads live and to record drums, guitar, and vocals. Amazing mic for the price.

Live Mic for Trumpet and Vocals

Hey guys, I'm looking for a mic that I can use live for both trumpet and vocals. Currently I'm using a Sennheiser e845s as a vocal mic, but I'm not sure if it can handle trumpet live or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

    Shure SM58S vs. Sennheiser e845S

Thanks man. I really don't think the seller is that kind of person. He's being completely honest with me through the communication we've had, and he's offered solutions to his honest mistake. I've inspected the Sennheiser mic, it's brand new and works perfectly. Rest assured, I think I'll be...

    Shure SM58S vs. Sennheiser e845S

Is it worth sending it back for the Shure though if all it takes is a little bit of EQing?

    Shure SM58S vs. Sennheiser e845S

Which one is better? Reason I'm asking is because I bought the SM58 off of eBay, and was sent the Sennheiser mic instead. I don't really know anything about these mics, are they any better than the SM58's? If so, I'll just keep it. I'm still kind of annoyed by this though...

New Recording with Added Kick Mic

Thanks man. With my current setup using Garageband and just a mixer, it's hard to mix in tom mics. I've tried it before, but everything just gets muddled together. They pick up too much of everything else. I'm limited with my EQ abilities, so I do the best I can with two overheads. As far as the...
