I'm looking to possibly get a set of tom mics for recording, not live sound. I'm looking to go cheap, budget of around 300-400 bucks. Are the Audix D2's or the Sennheiser e604's a good choice for a studio tom mic? Any other suggestions? Another note, I'll be running them right into a mixer...

Hey guys, I'm looking for a mic that I can use live for both trumpet and vocals. Currently I'm using a Sennheiser e845s as a vocal mic, but I'm not sure if it can handle trumpet live or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Is it worth sending it back for the Shure though if all it takes is a little bit of EQing?

Which one is better? Reason I'm asking is because I bought the SM58 off of eBay, and was sent the Sennheiser mic instead. I don't really know anything about these mics, are they any better than the SM58's? If so, I'll just keep it. I'm still kind of annoyed by this though... :mad:
