I've used long samples in fruity loops and have never had a problem the key is (like what was mentioned above) you can't edit the middle patterns with that sample if the trigger for the sample isn' in that pattern so at best you would only be able to edit a small fraction depending on how long...

scsi drives are alot faster (10000 ) even over 7200 drives a raid setup will only go as fast as your slowest drive but a raid setup does improve over standard ide setups I think anyone would prefer scsi over IDE but its just doo daamn expensive

why would you need 10 outs if you are recording on to your computer I don't get it wouldn't you really just need ONE out to go to your monitors?? I don't see why you would need so many outs ins I can understand but outs ?? unless you are hooking up 8 speakers or whatever I don't see the point

Is there anything out there that would allow me to have an actual physical controller in front of me that would control all the features in a program like nuendo or cubase I've seen the tascam us428 and i think that does that but are there any products out there that can do this and NOT be USB?
