I would argue that no interface will support it ever! (Not in our meager lifetimes anyway.) 24-bit is just hard enough as it is. If the entire dynamic range and linearity was utilized the precision would be better than that of the surface of the mirror in the Hubble (or any other current)...

Making 100 TRS cables is _a lot_ of work, and you will only save a modest amount of money. Save your strength till the time your cables start to go bad and then repair them one by one.

I'm not really an expert but I can say that yes, pianos do have a limited lifespan (comparable to the human lifespan). And it is because the metal frame (or what ever it's called in english) will fatigue and in the end crack.
