I've used my KSM 27 on tons of sources. Its sounded great on almost everything I've used it on which includes Rap vocals. Amazing microphone with a sexy price.

This will work but I can't say much about the quality, the amp should have an XLR out which would act as a direct box. If you want to plugin pedals I'd recomend buying a seperate DI box, I use DIs from Radial and ahve worked with country men which are awesome. ~Kyle

Depends on what I'm micing but I use them both quite a bit. I really like the i5 on drums when I can use it. Sometimes I use the i5 with a 57 on a guitar cab or one or the other and another mic like the AKG D330BT or EV RE10. Just depends on what works best at that time.
