    Ram: registered vs. unbuffered

It is your motherboard that defines if it is possible at all. Registered ram needs an extra clockcycle, so the memory controller has to support it and needs to be set by the bios. And no, you cannot mix both types.

    Ardour and Stuff

AFAIK there are no alsa drivers for the emu0404, so that is a no-starter as you need jack (and thus alsa) to run ardour.

    linux: Agnula or Fedora

Funny how everyone seems to have problems with gentoo while for me it is the only one that actually worked and I didn't have any linux experience. Don't even have more than scratched the surface of linux, so I'm far from an expert. But if you have no experience with linux and want to run audio...

    linux: Agnula or Fedora

Tried Fedora but ended up like minofifa and Chris. Endless mess of missing libs, wrong versions etc when trying to do audio. Then tried Planet CCRMA. This is a fedora based distro specially for sound. As long as you stay within the packages they provide it works very well. But once I wanted to...

    DAWs for internet?

No, only a spare boot for recovery. Could be replaced by a cdrom, but then you have to find it.

    DAWs for internet?

Running for years with all on one pc. Need some discipline to keep everything up to date. Using the least of MS as possible is the way to go: no IE, no Outlook at least.

Do you guy's have a cool edit pro serial key generator?

I know where I put my cd, but the manual... Last time I saw it was before I moved. Who needs a manual with CEP anyway.

Do you guy's have a cool edit pro serial key generator?

No, only the number on the back of the cd case. Should be there...

    Dumb Audition question...

Since you didn't gave more info I can only give a general outline. So I'll asume you use the windows mixer to set your levels and source. Now, open the mixer and in the record section, mute all the sources you won't use. Very likely you are recording them right now. So only make the input you...

How can I record the Music that I hear through my Speakers?!"

Total recorder will do that. It sets itself between the output mixer and the soundcard and records anything that can be outputted to your speakers. If you would use linux, then jack does this very well...

    Cool Edit Pro versus N-tracks

IF I have to choose between only those 2 then I would go for CEP/AA. But it is a very limited choice. There are other apps that can get about the same job done.

Apart from points 1 and 3 I do not agree with you. (point 2 could be debatable)

Changing the Wave form into WMA and or/ burn to CD???

The 24/96 of your card is the maximum it can handle. Now it is up to you what you use to record your work. But the CD medium itself is limited (by the red book standard) to 16/44.1. You cannot put anything else on a CD and call it a CD (stupid phrase, but you'll get the idea). Now, to record at...

Changing the Wave form into WMA and or/ burn to CD???

Go to the option "convert sample type" (somewhere in the edit menu) and set that to convert to 16bit 44.1kHz with dither at tpd and 1bit depth. Save the resulting wave file (as a copy, so you don't overwrite your original). Then open the burning app and create a new audio cd. Drag the 16/44.1...

    Recording Onto Cool Edit

Recording from DVD is a bit trickier. First, is the sound of the dvd coming from the analog connection at the back of the dvd? If so, then you will have to select the main output of the mixer as input source. If it goes digital, then you might have a chance using Totalrecorder. This app...

What is the best device to use as the master clock?

If you don't have a separate clock, then used the clock of the A/D convertors. If you really want to be anal about it, use the A/D clock when recording, the D/A clock at playback. It will be a bit of a problem when recording while playback, but you might work that one out for yourself... :)
