I never thought to look before.
I record mostly audio at 44.1khz/24bit. I don't typically delete unused takes and sometimes there can be numerous takes. Project folders range from 600MB to 1GB and average right at 800MB.
I don't know much about string spacing differences between guitars, but my guitar player has G&L ASAT and that neck is extremely narrow. It's really difficult to play because it just disappears in my hand. I'm hitting the A string when I'm aiming for the D. I don't like it.
I've got my...
Well, hopefully that'll take care of it for ya. I wonder why it wasn't working to begin with; it should have been.
Nah, I enjoy EZD and have no ambition to go try anything else.
Oh, what's going on with that? Mine has been working perfectly on my PC. I have yet to try it on my laptop, but maybe I will do that this weekend.
So, I'm actually working in reverse. I love the amp sims, especially the Fender amps. I might go buy the real thing here soon. I have a lead on one...
UA plugs and interfaces represent a significant investment, one that I built up over the years, one plug at a time. Hard to walk away from that, especially when they yield results I like. I downsized because eventually the wife and I will be moving to a sailboat and I want as small a footprint...
...and yet, you have an Apollo. At least you say you do. The amp sims are phenomenal, you have a "micronized" marshall stack right in the interface. It's there, go take a look. I personally have a fender Tweed and a Dietzel. Both sound wonderful.
Firewire PCIe cards won't be a problem. If you do have issues with Firewire and Win10, there are a couple of things in the BIOS you can turn off or disable that might help. C-States, Intel Speed step, enhanced speed, power save management... stuff like that.
The latest driver for the Echo works...
You could go look at metal studs. You would use fine pitch drywall screws to screw them together.

Ideally, you would not want to record vocals in a booth. If you have a large open room, it would sound better. But to be honest, I don't record in a large room myself. I find my...
I just sold off the last of my "rack gear", not that I had a lot to begin with. Just recently sold my UAD Apollo 2 Duo which was a rack mount interface and downsized to the Apollo Twin USB. It's all I need anymore.
Just this thing.
So, I say the time is now. Stop buying old junk!!! :D
Sounds like you and the drummer are doing everything right. If so, then the problem comes down to internal clocks on your PC/DAW and his TD27. If either or both are off a little, you'll see the lag you are experiencing. If you align the drum hits to your grid, you'll probably notice the gap gets...
I have a 9x10 ft room. I built a J-shaped desk that wraps around 3 sides. The studio is not only my little man-cave, but it's also my office for work. My work stuff is on the long side of the J desk, and my music stuff is along the bottom of the J shape. I keep my piano/kybrd on the back wall...
A mixer will not let him have individual mixes. A mixer may not have effects for each individual channels, like compression or reverb, though some do. A mixer won't have amp modeling, though maybe in this case, the OP has that covered. Most mixers will only stream two channel mixes to a PC...
Umm, I would be careful with that. the flash point is extremely low... 11c. The vapor cloud is invisible and can migrate quickly throughout your room. Any little spark from anything could cause it to ignite.
Best to just wipe it down instead of vaporizing IPA. Or drink whiskey.
Alcohol kills viruses. Drink whiskey before singing.
All kidding aside, I wouldn't have a problem with purchasing a used mic. If you have doubts, you can wipe it with isopropyl alcohol. or simply leave it in the sun for a few hours. The UV light will kill the virus, too.
